Do you think PLDT is trying to screw people?
« on: September 04, 2011, 01:26:02 am »
in relation to this thread of mine:

http://espiya.net/forum/index.php/topic,139618.0.html

we decided to go PLDT myDSL plan Xcite P1995 3mbps

i went to pldt to ask last friday and was given docs to be filled out and a Xerox of a flyer of the plans they offer di ko napansin na 2mbps nakalagay dun sa flyer for Xcite napointed out pa sakin ng pinsan ko, sabi koi sa website ang sabi 3mbps sabi nya malamang di updated website

so today, sunday papunta kami market and i saw a PLDT Agent na "naglalako" ng DSL so i talked to her sabi ko plan Xcite, she gave me a colored flyer but it still said 2mbps and i said: "Miss teka bat sabi sa website ng PLDT 3mbps ang P1995?" then the other agent said: "Ay sir luma na kasi yan, wala ka ba nung bago bigay mo kay sir" so the other agent handed me the SAME EXACT flyer but had 3mbps instead of 2mbps written down

so do you think nang gagago PLDT sa customers na medyo walang alam sa DSL dahil ang ibibigay nila speed ay 2mbps instead of the 3mbps as advertised sa website nila? kasi unless itanong mo parang ang ikakabit nila sayo 2mbps tapos pag nagreklamo ka sasabihin nila: "Ay mam/sir ang pinakita namin sa inyo nakalagay 2mbps lang and naka lock kayo ng 1 year dun"

and the NEW 3mbps flyers are below the stack of OLD 2mbps flyers na sabi naman nila "LUMA" na and why do they still keep the older flyers, medyo dugas by omission diba

One thing for sure sa PLDT, pinu push talaga nila with landline.

all internet providers dito sa pinas give really bad service sa ibang bansa when they say 1mbps they really mean 1 mbps

for me (for me lang ha, opinion ko)
lahat ng DSL and wireless providers ay nanloloko.
bakit?
lets say, 1mbps offer, then pag connected kana and bayad ka na, less than 1mbps lumalabas na speed mo.

just my 2 cents though.

i agree 2u much! pero somehow, by experience, na a-outsmart ko rin ang provider when it comes sa speed ng net (actually, plan 990 lang ako.) ginawa ko basta dial ako ng 171(for pldt) kunilit ko yung agent then, tried to be irate then after non kinausap ko yung TL regarding sa speed ng net ko, luckily, granted request ko.. what happens a couple of months after, i still pay 990 for a 3mb DSL internet speed ;D

I don't think its any different in other countries unless they're exactly offering MBps.

My story is going to be boring but very informative.. i guess.. lol

I myself, am a subscriber and using the Plan Excel (3mbps = 2,999 php/mo). so 2 or 3 months ago namention ng friend ko na may promo nga daw, at kung naka 5mbps na daw ba ako?

So after 1 week, wala pa ring tumatawag.

After 3 days (mind you, these are 3 business days) tumawag ulit ako. Ang linya namin ay nasa Legacy pa, so lumang line pa nga daw, which i believe is true. So you know how i felt, It was a fucking scam. Wala namang asterisks* dun or anything depicting that, edi sana d na ako nag aksaya ng panahon.

UP TO 3MBPS

a lot of comments on the thread missed the point specially those pointing out the UP TO kasi most of us know that the advertised speed is only the peak possible of a service and is still BASED greatly on how close you are to the connection cabinet or the office itself, so malapit lapit kami sa PLDT kaya sa 2mbps we do get above 1.8mbps pag browsing lang and no downloading, the point was how they sell the P1995 plan to uninformed customers dahil kung di nila alam sa LEGACY sila itatapon

sorry OT hehehe

baka may drawback jan sa 3mbps na yan. baka itapon sa mga lines na congested at swertihan lang ang 3mbps. sa pagkakaalam kapag bago ka pa lang na subscriber, mabilis, tapos after a few months, i"switch" ka nila sa congested network to give way sa mga bagong subcribers.   HMMM

ito yung extremely old 2mbps LEGACY connection nila, 3/5 online users(apparently no one is downloading), 2005 pa kami dito sa connection na ito, if anything was congested ito dapat since ito yung original speeds they offered from 6 years ago

Sir Masterchief, sana makatulog ang isasagot ko sayo ngayon, well start from last month i go to PLDT office at Marikina City, i also applied excite plan 1995 for 3mbps, and they told me san ang address ng house namen, sinabi ko sa kanila kung san location namen, he replied ung xcite plan na 1995 for 3mbps ay hnd available sa Location namen, there are places or selected places na pwedeng mag avail nun, sana masterchief ask mo din mismo sa Customer Service ng PLDT. dial 171 konting tyaga lang kasi mejo busy din ang operator, sinabi ko din sa kanila na sana maayos na nila ung line sa lugar namen para ma avail namen ung ganung promo, hehe peace
