128 mb 64 bit video card?
« on: March 21, 2007, 08:58:10 am »

for a 128mb 64bit VC

128mb--- the amount of memory the VC have.. its RAM

64-bit--- memmory interface.. I believe it concerns bandwith(got nothing to do with the OS)..
higher is better

mejo mgulo po ata...

tinutukoy po nya is specs ng vid hal. 128mb/64 bit, me nakita n din po ko 128mb.128 bit... nd po ata sa memory ung 64,128 bit... pero nd ko din po kz alam ibg sbhn nun.. pero i bet it has nothing to do with your os version

OK ang alam ko ganito:

128mb 128bit VGA is better than both 128mb 64bit and 256mb 64bit VGAs

Geforce 5500 128mb 128 bit IS BETTER than 5500 256mb 64 bit... graphical performance is not defined by the amount of RAM it has coz a higher amount of ram only means it will not need to share memory with your system ram thus ur system is not crippled by the ram sharing of ur VGA

In digital multimedia, bitrate is the number of bits used per unit of time to represent a continuous medium such as audio or video after source coding (data compression). In this sense it corresponds to the term digital bandwidth consumption, or goodput.

so the amount of BITs determine your VGA's graphical performance not the amount of RAM....ok...medyo may idea na ko sa pagbili ng bagong video card. salamat sir xtian.

Not really.. When it comes to VGA's your main concern is the GPU(Graphics Processing Unit).. higher memory nor higher "bit" does not mean better performance.. for example..

a 6600GT with 128mb of memory is better than a 6200 with 256mb

also..

a 7600GT with 128-bit is alot better than a 5900 with 256-bit..

and as I’ve said.. Bit is concerned with bandwidth

a 128-bit 1000mhz Gddr3 memory has a bandwidth of around 16Gb/s while a 256-bit with the same frequency would have around 32Gb/s..

correct ur GPU will always be the determining factor of VGA performance
