To All The Crackpots Wherever You May Be
« on: November 05, 2006, 01:54:12 am »
An elderly Chinese woman purchased two large pots one day and she hung each of them, either ends of a pole which she usually carried across her neck.  One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and with no flaw, always delivering a full portion of water every day.

Always at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, the woman bringing home only one and a half pots' of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, but the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfections, and bitterly miserable that it could only do half of what it had been created to do.

After two years of what it had perceived to be bitter failure, the cracked pot spoke up to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to house.? The old woman smiled and then in a soft voice replied,? And did you notice, that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pots' side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw right back to the day I first laid eyes on you, so, I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and now every day while we walk slowly back, it is you that waters them for me." The old woman continued,? For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table and without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."..........

Each of us has our own unique flaw, but it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

Brother Green, nice post again...Talagang you never run out of good stories. Allow me to add and share na din dito yung lyrics ng kanta ni Ray Stevens c.1970, Everything is Beautiful:

Everything Is Beautiful
Ray Stevens
- written by Ray Stevens

Jesus loves the little children, all the little children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Everything is beautiful in its' own way
Like a starry summer night or a snow covered winter's day
Everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's heaven, the world's gonna find a way

There is none so blind as he who will not see
We must not close our minds, we must let our thought be free
For every hour that passes by, you know the world gets a little bit older
It's time to realize that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder

Everything is beautiful in its' own way
Like a starry summer night or a snow covered winter's day
Ah, sing it children
Everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's heaven, the world's gonna find a way

We shouldn't care about the length of his hair or the color of his skin
Don't worry about what shows from without but the love that lives within
We're gonna get it all together now and everything gonna work out fine
Just take a little time to look on the good side my friend
And straighten it out in your mind

Everything is beautiful in its' own way
Like a starry summer night or a snow covered winter's day
Everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's heaven, the world's gonna find a way
