matagal na akong merong BDO credit card (nag expire na nga last 2013 yung isang card), wala naman akong na experience na ganyan. naloko ka lang talaga kasi kung taga BDO talaga ang tumawag sayo they will NEVER ask for your card number (why would they? they already have it), ang itatanong sayo is yung security question na nilagay mo sa application like mothers maiden name (since their goal is NOT to know your card number but to establish your identity as the owner of the card).
eto lang tandaan pag may mga tumawag sa phone, always ask whats the call about. kung credit card man, ask why are they calling instead of sending SMS, or email bakit kailangan pa itawag kung mag iinform lang ng promo or something (an automated SMS,email is going to be way cheaper and faster). most of the time yung mga tumatawag na yan hindi talaga from the credit card company, mga telemarketer lang yan. marami na tumawag sakin dati (although wala pang related to BDO), i always ask kung ano ang purpose ng call, pag sinabi na promo or something, automatic not interested ang sabi sabay baba ang phone. they are telemarketers they wont bother calling again, they will just go to the next name on the list
also every transaction sa credit card na suspicious (i.e. yung nangyayari minsan na down ang system so ilang beses naiswipe ng establishment ang card para lumusot), they will send SMS to your registered cp number AND/OR they will call dun sa registered CP number.
yung about naman dun sa mga number na napupunta sa mga telemarketers, it does happen not only with BDO but other companies as well. although bawal yan, nakakalusot parin since mahirap din itrace kung sino sa mga employee ang nagleak ng info kasi yung iba dyan hindi naman talaga directly employed, like call center agents or former employees.
