Mga boss..Is it true kapag nagka-mumps ka at age of 18+ nakakabaog daw? O Hindi? Sabi ng iba nakakabaog daw kapag ang mumps mo ay natagalan kung nasa edad ka na ng 18 and above...mga Co-spies please enlighten me...

In 20 to 30 per cent of the cases of adult men with mumps, the disease infects the testicles (orchitis) causing swelling, pain, soreness and a higher temperature. This often occurs about a week after the disease has broken out, and is a serious infection that may cause sterility.

However, among the few sexually mature men who contract mumps, only half get orchitis. Of these patients, only 10 percent are affected in both testicles, and even then it does not necessarily cause sterility. If sterility occurs, there is still a chance that fertility may return.

possible po..kung nagka mumps kayo at the same time namaga ang testes nyo..or ung tinatawag na orchitis...if 2 sa balls nyo ang namaga...then possible na bumaba ang sperm count nyo..if isa lang..then possible pa rin makabuo....pero..ika nga..it takes 1 sperm to fertilized an egg

YES there is a risk. Why? rubula virus lays dormant in the testicles, actually hndi mapapatay ang virus unlike bacteria it will just limit itself and if you are imuno-compromised like aids, walang tulog palati, stressed at taking cancer drugs it will come back. ang case kasi pag nag mumps at nasa 15 up na, yung virus mag stay sa testicles kaya magka cause nang orchitis- pamamaga nang mga balls. kapag namaga na or on the process na namamaga, syempre yung body mu lalaban sa virus yung mga antibodies o police pangkatawan , tapos pag naglaban na sila maging casualties yng mga sperms (civilian ) at testicular lining ( buildings and establishments ), kaya hndi ka na rin magkakaanak pero sabi nila 25% daw lang ang chance na mangyari yan pero malaki na rin yan at malas ka nlng pag isa ka sa 25%.

naku talaga naman sakto itong thread na ito. nagkamumps kasi ang pamangkin ko at nagsearch nga ako kahapon. at tama ung sabi nung kapatid ko na may possibility ng infertility lalo na sa mga lalaki ang mumps esp sa puberty. FYI lang naman. yung isa kasi naming kasama sa bahay di pa nagkakamumps. highly contagious. at wala din lunas or gamot. meron lang sa simtomas niya. pero di naman pala ito nakakatakot or malalang sakit kasi nawawala din after 2 weeks. at life-long immunity na din after mo magkaroon.

yung isang barkada at school mate ko nuong high school nag ka beke din nuon...hindi sya nakabuntis...60 yrs old na sya ngayon...sumubok sya sa ibang babae bukod sa asawa nya, wala talaga!
