It is better served as a dish to the officers in charge of tactics.

Mabuti sana kung gawing per region ang training, directly under a special division of the Army imbes na per school. Tapos huwag gawing required.

WE are not trained to be soldiers. Iyan ang natutunan ko sa Scoutmaster namin.

ROTC

4. at umupo

at least masaya

HAHAHAHA

(sad, but true!)
You can't seee me!!!

And who do u expect to defend you or your home or your lifestyle if one day, Malaysia or China decided to invade us? Do you think your long hair will frighten a Chinese invader or your Sunday rest day will give you the strength to wage a defense against a Malaysian intrusion?  Look at a reality and this is being kept - Singapore has occupied an island which is a Malaysian territory.  Malaysia just kept its cool to avoid an escalation of conflict in the Asean Region but the reality is binastos na ang Malaysia and this incident is being kept under wraps. Spratly rightfully belongs to the Philippines pero binastos na tayo pero may magawa ba tayo?  Note that the Philippines has all the natural resources that China needs and we are always a good source for their needs.  So what will stop them from doin so? If they attack, do you think that after one day of the attack, US forces are already here the following day to defend us? At pag nangyari yun, ano ang gagawin mo? You will continue to play with your computer games and listen to your celphone music?  The country never had an inkling that the Japs would invade during WWII but they invaded us and we were never prepared when that happen. If everyone has your attitude and never prepared for any eventuality, you can defend your sister or your mom when some Indonesian or Chinese comes knocking at your doorstep?  The strength of Israel or Switzerland or Singapore comes because of a citizenry militarily prepared at all times.

The problems we keep comparing other countries Military strength

Israel
Their Military enlistment was compulsory and prerequisite for college entrance

China
They have also a military training a 1 whole week of military training

unlike in Pinas
college student were bombarded with lots of assignment and exams and having a ROTC was a hassle

war nowadays is not like the old war where a huge military power in terms of soldier and equipments will turn the tide of war

war nowadays is missile power, air superiority, and artillery bombardment

what if china invades?

If china invades us we can't do nothing - they have military superiority  even we resist they will look at us a small fry
1. we don't have any decent armament maybe "paltik" will do

If we can not do anything when there is an invader then why do we maintain an standing army ... disband na lang yan at pulis na lang lahat

kaso hindi ganoon eh.... against all odds if the really want to invade us we can make it very hard for them that they will think twice on doing it and wish on going back home..... behind its modern hardware is a human soldier that can be neutralized or killed .. i am a reservist and my units motto is " make do can do "

wahahaha

if a country with strong industrial power attacks the philippines
baka magtayo muna sila ng factory dito
tapos roll-out mga tanks and aircraft
diretso sa attack
tapos walang makakalapit sa factory kasi may katabing tesla coils
parang red alert lang
bwahahahaha

-mabuild up ang pakikipagsocialize
-maging responsable

our army use for quelling rebels

we can make it hard for them if the country came from a far away location what if china invade us
they have    2,255,000 active military (correct if I'm wrong)
they have 800,000 active reserve (correct if I'm wrong)
They have 3,969,000 active paramilitary forces compared to Pinas 158,000 paramilitary forces

overall country population, male and female, of persons that might be available for military service.
729,323,673 china
46,724,739 Philippines

if china invades us it is a overkill

it is plausible

My Grandmother said before the Japanese invaded Philippines, They seen some japanese marrying pinays at the time of  the commonwealth acting as merchants or something

I believe you have the right statistics but invading a country like ours is not done by numbers alone.. we have the advantage of knowing the geography and resources to make them suffer .. and not all chinese standing army can invade us they have to leave some for thier own protection there... imagine the logistics involve of invading another country in a total war.. equiptments , fuel, ammo , and support services ... thats where we can hit them and we can do it only if we had even some rudimentary military training .. we can not just roll over and welcome them ..... he he

A Chinese invasion would be much easier if we share borders with them on land. But we have a barrier which is the south china sea. Yes they have modern ships and advanced aircraft. But how many can they send in a wave to make sure they can gain a strong foothold? That would be limited to how many transportation ships they can muster in an invasion attempt. Meron nga silang missiles long range bombers and aircraft. But Bombardment is different from Invasion. Invasion would require your military to gain strong foothold on enemy soil. To invade a country like the philippines, a nation would need hundreds of thousands to secure it. Yes China has a kick-ass navy and airforce but I doubt if they have enough transportation vehicles to secure and invade a nation successfully.
