Topic: compaq presario vs acer

mga experts i am planning to buy a laptop/notebook this december. I made my research. I came up with these 2 laptops:

.... which is better mga bro??? If you have read any reviews about these products please let me know. By the way both of the laptops have 29k+ pesos price

nung una ko nga nakita yung compaq nagustuhan ko agad. kaya lang may mga nabasa me reviews about it na panget ang performance. wala pa me nababasa reviews about acer

tnx sa mga reply mga bro. another issue ko pa sa compaq is it does not have any cd for its drivers. Kelangan ko pa pumunta sa hp.com/support para idownload ang mga drivers.

pareho kc walang os yung nasa taas na models kaya ako magiinstall ng os which madali lang. Ang acer may cd drivers and compaq wala.

Meron akong 2 kakilala na nagkakaproblema sa compaq isa yung prof ko compaq na celeron ayaw na umilaw ng lcd. Tapos yung isa kong kaibigan yung compaq nya nagloloko na ang battery kailangan na parating isaksak sa kuryente mga 4 months old pa lang yata. Sa acer ewan ko pero ok naman ang reputation ng acer e. gamit ko msi e ayos lang naman lagpas 1 year na. Ang compaq kasi maganda ang design ng laptop e. Pero ikaw bahala.

i'd go with compaq. naka 3 acer na yung company namin, sirain talaga. bigat pa. compaq yung gamit ko ngayon (personal), mag one year na ok pa naman. pero kung kaya, sana sa states ka na lang magpabili o kaya sa singapore. sobrang laki kasi ng diff sa price and 2-3gb na kasi minimum memory sa states kasi pre-installed na ng windows vista. dun sa drivers naman, nasubukan ko na yan sa website ng HP. kung ok naman dsl mo, minutes lang naman per driver so konting tyagaan lang. sa torrent nga ni maria ozawa kahit 5 weeks to download naghihintay e. hehehehehe...

Compaq is a Hewlett Packard brand, and my HPs all run well, no problems.

I have no experience with Acer, but I've always tried to avoid Acer because my perception is that they are not sturdy and they are not known for durability.

Compare Compaq to Mitsubishi, and Acer to Kia. That's how I see it.

The best laptop brands are Toshiba, Lenovo (IBM), Mac (of course), HP (based on my experience) and Sony.

i'd go with acer, before you buy compaq ask them for warranty and parts availability, my bad experiences with about 5 compaq laptops 4 years ago 75-90thou each all of them now look paperweights dami cracks problems with lcd kelangan mo diianan para umayos lcd, batteries failed, when one of the battery failed after 1 year wala mabibili dito ioorder pa yan 3 months wait time (inabot 5 months bago dumating) 12thou ata battery lang and guess what nung dumating sakin yung battery ikakabit ng technician nmin d gumagana aba ang sabi nung pinag orderan is ok daw nung nirelease nila yung item so ang siste kami daw sumira, babay 12thou. this compaq was the time when compaq was not yet merged with HP. 5 units yan practically paper weights d2 sa office kakahuyin nalang namin hard disk at memory gawing external storage. against acer 3 acer laptops d2 sa office wla ni isang problem parts nyan im sure mabbili mo d2 pero again wala pa nacra or bugs or khit na mag hang or overheat sa acer laptops namin. 2nd acer ko na to ung acer ko nun about 8yrs ago wala din prblem.

compare mo din specs if i were you i'd get an acer with turion x2 processor mas maganda video card na mga naka partner jan.

tignan mo kung ano brands ang nasa top 10 monthly at tignan mo review ng type mo bago ka buy para alam mo i eexpect mo.

my first laptop is an ACER 1650 nak two years kaming nagkasama. and i never had any trouble ragarding sa hardware and performance. recently i bought my acer 4920. id prefer acer. user friendly and d k matatalo sa performance. the price is affordable pa. unlike the other brands which you are paying more for the brand name.

the bottom line is, whatever brand you are to buy and use, nasa USER pa rin kung magtatagal ang unit o hindi.

last suggestion: if you are to buy a notebook, make sure it has a video card . hindi yung on board video because if you are to play games, some or maybe most games will not work on onboard video.

tnx sa mga replies mga bro. with what i heard from you, all case to case basis tlaga ang itatagal ng laptop. my gf's latop is acer and it has been working fine for more than a year now. pero i haven't used compaq kaya d ko sure ang performance and durability nya.

i am also checking for better specs. i will be reading reviews as well. For video card naman ok na cguro yung onboard kc d naman me mag play ng games. mahal din yung mga may dedicated video cards kc usually they come in 40k and up.

I am looking for centrino/centrino 2 processors now. para atleast mas mabilis. pero acer or compaq pa rin ang choices ko. tnx for your replies guys....
