FA-50 is not as advanced as the high-end jets being used by US or European countries but when it comes to bang for buck, this aircraft is high tech enough.
Hindi ito junk at surplus, ito din ang bibilhin ng South Korea to augment their own airforce (
"FA-50 fighters will replace A-37 attack jets and F-4/F-5 fighters in the low-tier backup to the Air Force's high-end KF-16s and F-15Ks" -
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/rok/a-50.htm),
Buying these kind of equipment for our armed forces doesn't mean China will fear us, it doesn't mean we are now safe from 1st world bullies like China, it just means we now have the capability to at least send a couple of these jets within our territory for whatever purpose it may serve.
The next president(Binay or Roxas or Revilla or Gordon) should continue to modernize our armed forces.
