Scorned wife kills husband inside SM North EDSA

MANILA, Philippines - Left by her husband for another woman he met at work, a woman shot dead her husband at his workplace – a mall – Wednesday night.

Shella Macapugay, 25, did not have any regrets over what she had done.

“What she regrets is that the gun did not go off when she pointed it at herself and instead hit a security guard,” Inspector Elmer Monsalve, head of the homicide investigation section of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), told The STAR.

Security guard Ricardo Inamac, who tried to stop Shella from killing herself, died at a hospital.

Shella’s estranged husband, Abel, 32, died after being shot in the head with the .38 caliber revolver the woman smuggled into the mall.

Superintendent Audi Madrideo, commander of QCPD Station 2, said the incident happened at past 7 p.m. Wednesday.

He said Shella had prepared two suicide notes, one for her mother and another for her mother-in-law, wherein she asked them to take care of her daughter.

Abel worked as a sales employee at a shop in the mall. Shella had worked at the same mall, also as a sales employee. Abel’s reported mistress also works there.

The couple had been married for almost six years and have a five-year-old daughter. Abel’s reported mistress gave birth recently, police said.

Shella said her husband left her and their daughter last January and started living with his mistress. She told police that Abel refused to give them financial support.

She said she was able to buy a revolver for P4,000 in Bulacan and on Wednesday, confronted Abel regarding their problem. In the middle of their confrontation, Shella drew a gun she hid in her bag and shot her husband in the head.

Upon seeing her husband fall, Shella tried to shoot herself but Inamac tried to wrest the gun away from her. Inamac suffered gunshot wounds in the back and left leg during the scuffle.

Shella again pointed the handgun at her head and pulled the trigger several times, but the gun did not fire. Another security guard, Efren Songcayawon, managed to stop her and take the gun away.

problema kasi talaga ang security sa mga malls and even sa LRT/MRT. most of the time pero hindi naman lahat tinutusok tusok lang yung bag sa loob and not checking properly. that's why nakalusot yung babae na may dalang baril.

"don't buy a gun from bulacan" anu logic neto idol? first of all chicharon at paputok nga lang ginagawa ng bulacan + yang ulam mong bocha kanina. and 2nd for me gun's don't kill they are only tools to protect or take life... people who use them are the real weapons

Isang tao na wala sa sariling katinuan ang tanging makagagawa ng ganyan, sabihin na natin na kasalanan nung lalaki dahil iniwan nya ang asawa't anak para sumama sa iba, pero naging mahina ang babae at nagpatalo sa problema kaya ganun ang naisip nya sulusyon para takasan ang problema, pero hindi malulutas ang problema sa paggawa ng isa pang problema. Hula ko nyan pag nililitis na ang kaso magiging depensa ng babae dyan ay yung wala sya sa sariling pag-iisip kaya nya nagawa ang krimen. Pero ang totoong biktima dito ay ang kawawang mga bata, mas kawawa siguro yung panganay na bata dahil mawawalan sya ng 2 magulang, sana'y hindi sya pabayaan ng kanyang mga lola at kamag-anak at sana'y hindi sya ma trauma sa nangyari sa kanyang magulang.

Moral lesson siguro dito, bago tayo gumawa ng isang bagay na alam natin mali pag-isipan muna mabuti kung ano magiging epekto nito sa mga taong nkapaligid satin, gaano man ito kaliit maaaring malaki ang perwisyong maidulot nito sa ating mga mahal sa buhay.

fyi, there are several agencies manning the whole of SM NE, hence how will they know who is responsible for the lapse?  we did a previous "casing" of a mall in NCR back then with regards to that FMG thing, and it seems there are no visible CCTVs in the entrance.  at least that is whats apparent in our "test" mall.  i guess the same thing holds true with most SM malls.  

no offense to most people in the NCR, i am most compelled to have me gun by my waist, when i am in your place.  nagkalat kasi mga loko diyan.  saka i had the very unfortunate experience when i entered a building in makati and decided to just leave my gun sa SG since the place looks secured (may metal detector walk-through).  SG just took the gun and tossed it in a drawer with the rest of deposited guns.    i heard metal hitting metal (must be my mag guide).  didn't last 10 mins inside, went to excuse myself from my companion, and just took my "precious" and waited at the sidewalk.  that was when Binay (then a mayor) arrived and stayed in the same building for a few minutes.  all the time, one of his bodyguards had his eyes on me.  he was already opening the door for the marine reservist (jejomar binay) and still he has his eyes on me.  the car of binay was already peeling away, and the guy still has his eyes on me, while struggling to get inside the car (one foot in, one foot hopping).  it must not be my gun, have it concealed and the guy was positioned in such a way that he can't see it.  the motorcycle-riding cop was in a better position to see what i am carrying from his angle, albeit he was some good 70 meters away.  i dont know if they have some covert advance party orsomething.  if not that, i must have my fly open and mr. vip security wants a "shamcey".    whenever i see our vice president, i just smile and do hope the same guy is no longer in his private security detail.  masyado maangas na wala sa lugar.  

back to topic, went to SM clark yesterday and i have "mine" brought in the mall.  SG insisted that i deposit it, however after showing some more credentials and telling them that i either bring it with me or i leave it in my vehicle and if it gets lost, they'd be responsible, SM security budged and let "us" in.  i just don't feel secure with what is happening around us.  people get shot even while hearing mass!    

dapat kasi maghigpit sa mga "iligal" at hindi sa mga legal.
