As far as I know, this pre-Alpha hasn't been cracked yet. There's one alleged crack that will only allow you to go to the character selection screen, and another that will actually let you play in an empty world for like 2 seconds before command lines fill up your screen.
Also, save yourself the trouble of downloading separate files. You can download the actual client from
http://us.media.battle.net.edgesuite.net/downloads/d3-installers/4de82d80-ddeb-4e61-80ae-b4e8817f54b0/Diablo-III-Beta-enUS-Setup.exe . It's the same thing, you won't be able to play either if you don't have a key.
This pre-Alpha beta isn't easy to crack.
All inputs related to non-player actions will come from Blizzard's server. Hence, the group that's currently trying to crack this is trying to find a way to emulate the server (they were able to do this for the Alpha of Starcraft 2 but that was easy because enemy AI required only a few simple command lines).
I'm sure a lot of people are praying that they'll find something in the pre-Alpha copy itself that will give them a clue as to how the emulated server should be set up and how it should respond to the player. Minus this, the only way to emulate the server is to actually hack the real Blizzard server and steal their codes.
You can check out the progress of their cracking exploits via MiRC at irc.Rizon.net #D3SE.
There are thousands of alleged cracks on the internet right now, but I assure you, only a few of them are the incomplete cracks described above, and majority of them are malware.
