Need advice: Feces in uterus
« on: March 01, 2010, 02:22:44 am »

Correct me if I'm wrong mga doc :) I know it happens lalu na in worst cases(ca)
Asan na ba sila doc a at doc castro 'paging paging'he he

Advice you na lng din po si gf to increase her intake of foods high in fiber like green leafy veggies & a lot of fruits para sa constipation nya ,mahirap din masanay sya sa mga gamot /laxatives e...
Exercise would much help & a lot of fluids / drinking a lot of water even. Mainly sa constipation needs lifestyle changes, try pa din nya kahit sa work nya from time to time to stand / wag mgtagal na nakato / naka upo though di ata ganun sa call center...

Wait k lng din kila doc on call yata sila :)

Magrereply sana ako na impossible yun, pero a quick google search nalaman ko na pwede pala. Rectovaginal Fistula tawag dyan.

Ito yung link kung saan ko nakita:
http://www.revolutionhealth.com/forums/cancer/colon-cancer/107204

Ito yung information galing wiki:
A rectovaginal fistula is a medical condition where there is a fistula  or abnormal connection between the rectum and the vagina.

Rectovaginal fistula may be extremely debilitating. If the opening between the rectum and vagina is wide it will allow both flatulence and feces to escape through the vagina, leading to fecal incontinence. There is an association with recurrent urinary and vaginal infections.

CAUSES
Rectovaginal fistulae are often the result of trauma during childbirth (in which case it is known as obstetric fistula) in situations where there is inadequate health care, such as in some developing countries. Rates in Eritrea  are estimated as high as 350 per 100,000 vaginal births. Fistulas can also develop in women and children who are raped; women with rectovaginal fistulae are often stigmatized in third world countries, and become outcasts.

Rectovaginal fistulae can also be a symptom of various diseases, including infection by Lymphogranuloma venereum,[2] or the unintended result of surgery, such as episiotomy or sexual reassignment surgery. They may present as a complication of vaginal surgery, including vaginal hysterectomy. They are a recognized presentation of rectal carcinoma or rarely diverticular disease of the bowel or Crohn's disease. They are seen rarely after radiotherapy treatment for cervical cancer.

kung may rectovaginal fistula cya eh d may lumalabas na dumi sa pekpek nya.
meron ba?

napapa isip tuloy ako pano nagkaron ng dumi sa matres nya
parang rare case yan kung totoo man.
d pa ako nakaka encounter ng ganyan sa exposure ko sa ospital

pano naman nasabi ng OB na mat dumi sa matres nya? nagpa ultrasound ba cya?

this is a rare case in the age group 20-40s, unless there was a predisposing factor (hereditary bowel disease, prior colo-rectal/gynecological surgery). sorry bro, i'm not convinced that dulcolax lang ang irereseta ng isang duktor para sa isang rectovaginal fistula. this would warrant immediate further investigation as to the cause and severity of the fistula. this also can cause severe infection in your friend, not to mention fecal material coming out of her vagina, which is extremely distressing.

matres=bahay bata=womb=uterus. is your friend sure that these terms were the ones used?  dulcolax is a common treatment for functional constipation, but no doctor in his/her right mind will be giving someone with rectovaginal fistula just dulcolax, without putting his/her career in jeopardy.
