I have a question for you DokitoPrito. How much are you willing to spend?
What or how do you intend to use your netbook or notebook?
Personally, I'm using Asus K401J. Not really high end but it suits me best.
I think I saw on a website before, I forgot where it was but there was this report where it shows the brand of laptops that were frequently replaced due to hardware malfunction or failure.
Both HP & Acer were on top of the list for the most frequently replaced & the brand with the least replacement were Asus(yehey!
) & Toshiba.
Although, we must not discount the fact the factors or reasons why they were replaced. Most of them got spilled or fell off the table.
It really depends on how you take care of your laptop or computer.
But based on some feedback from my really tech freak friends, they did have some negative feedback on HP specifically. Poor chipset is the most common reason.
My aunt's HP Pavilion's display went out after just a year after she got it.
Let me share some tips though.
- the higher the cell of the battery, the better. A 6 cell is good, a 9 cell is even better.
- don't close your laptop if you haven't shut it down completely. This will do a lot of damage most especially to your hard drive.
- really take time to do admin tasks such as disk cleanup or degragmentation. These tasks really wear me out but it's really necessary.
Don't wait for your hard disk to tell you that it's almost out of space before you do a disk cleanup. This not only keeps your hard drive clean but it also marginally improves performance from your machine.
More importantly, clean your laptop. Dust & dirt will hamper the performance of your laptop or machine. Trust me on this, my pre-historic PC wasn't displaying anything.
But after cleaning EVERYTHING from PSU, GPU, MOBO & all, lo & behold, the display came back on!
Anyways, I'm sure there will be a barrage of tips & advice that will come after this.
It's almost midnight while I'm typing this, only a few more minutes & it's welcome 2010! So happy new year to all espiyas!
