A little backgrounder sa kuwento, was in the Pampanga-Bulacan area a couple of weeks ago (unintentionally coincided with someone's speaking engagement sa isang PTA induction
). It was raining then from time to time and my windshield was I can say a bit ok. Acceptable, like around 90 percent clean. It had this very, very think, occasional spot of water marks then. When we were NLEX northbound just fronting Robinsons, there was a sudden traffic. It seems at that very light rain, a tree decided to stop standing and ended up blocking the road. What was around us then was a truck carrying those industrial stuff and spewing thick white smoke. Another was a cement mixer truck. It was raining lightly then and windshield was ok. After the obstruction was removed and traffic flowed smoothly it started to rain hard hence, had to switch the wiper from slow to fast, that is when it appeared the very thin water marks "magically" became like thicker and made driving very hard in heavy rains.
Now, a friend tried this 60 / 40 water and white vinegar concoction to brush the spots off. It seems to do the trick, however slowly. My question is is that approach safe or will it eventually "scratch" my windshield? Im seeing swirl marks amd i dont know if it is from previous cleaning or because of the diy cleaning method now, How do you guys clean your windshield of water marks? I've seen ads online for windshield cleaning, however, them being in the metro area it is not a viable option now given I'm around 1.5 hours away.
