Sana naparangalan muna siya ng National Artist Award bago namatay.
there is a mad scramble to award him such, however, posthumously. such move, i think, is made to turn the sorrow of the people into "possible votes" by those possibly running come 2013. WTF, if they really think the person deserved the award, why did they not expedite the process while he was alive! they say such conferment still has to undergo a lot of process, hence "their hands are tied as to Dolphy being given that National Artist Award". so where is that process now? are they saying that before Dolphy died they can't do anything to "bypass" the process? and now that Dolphy is dead they can "circumvent that process"?!?! WTF ulit! in my opinion, if they do "beat the deadline" and actually bestow the award during his wake or burial, it is pretty insulting for those who can understand. award or no award, Dolphy's contribution to the arts is undeniable, so it would be better if they keep "politics" out of his wake. the declaration of day of mourning and the possible Dolphy Day is but proper, since it will be funny if such would be given prior to his death
