DSL or VIRUS/SPYWARE

guys im having problem with my connection.. im a  dsl user ,a mozilla firefox user and an ym user!

situation: i can connect my dsl connection but the problem is a cannot browse the net or connect to my ym.. do i have a spyware/adware/virus or any malicious file??? or its just my browser or is it my PLDT connection??

help namn po guys!

how do you know you are connected to the internet? the icon at the system tray?

how about your internet settings. check settings for firefox and ym. make sure you are using direct internet connection option

yup sir..i already check evrythn... i also scan for possible virus and spyware but there is no threat???

what makes you say you are connected to the internet if you cannot access any webpage or YM?

whats the basis of your analysis saying "i can connect my dsl connection"?

ganyan din sa fren ko using PLDT DSL kahit na nka-connect na rin sya hinde rin mka browse or YM..he wait for almost 2 minutes b4..minsan may problem din sa HUB nya..check mo nlang ung mga hardware

have you tried checking your modem kung narerecognize siya ng PC mo??turn of mo muna firewall mo then try setting up your connections baka nagkkproblema sa I.p address between your modem & pc

kc guys e2 po yng situation e ..before it works fine..na setup ko na firewall ko..aus namn hardware ko kc im only the one who is using the pc e kya theres no other person involve.then aftr ko i on again the next day ayn mern prob..tpus ngyn ok namn na. na scan ko lht guys e ..theres nothng wrong or virus to be found. kya guess ko is PLDT DSL na ??? nd kyya???

smart wifi kc gamit ko bro. pero i tinkmay parasite ka bro.  pki check mo raw kung may parasite yung pc mo bro.

bro try mo ito, start ---> run ----> type command or cmd

then sa command prompt type mo ipconfig /all

then check mo kung may binabato sayo na IP, DNS, DGateway.. kapag meron nman tingin ko sa computer mo na ang problema bro..

or the best thing is call the techsupport of your DSL provider..

i had called pldt about this concern  and they gave me a specific dns config then aftr nun aus na namn... hay salamat... ty ulit guys  ;D ;D ;D

kasi tanggap sila ng tanggap ng subscribers ndi nmn pla nila kayang i-support
ndi ko pa natatawagan
kasi baka pumunta sila dito e wala nmn ako tapos mama ko pa ang makausap

ano ung dns config na sinasabi mo

Hi!

Just read the thread. Baka late na masyado pero post ko narin, for future reference. Baka magamit.
Lahat ng webaddress(www.yahoo.com, www.google.com) may equivalent and IP address. ang computer natin, hindi talaga nagcoconnect directly sa webaddress, IP ang hinahanap niya.

DNS- Domain Name Server. Converts/translate yung address na tinype mo sa URL to the static IP address ng website.

2 types ang DNS- Static and dynamic. You can check by looking at your DNS setting sa TCP/IP stack sa control panel>network connections>local Area Connection. Pag dynamic, hahanapin ng PC mo ang pinakamalapit na DNS server sa area mo. (DNS servers are provided ng ISP) Pag may problema ang DNS server, hindi matatranslate yung address sa URL. so di can makakasurf pag nag type ka ng yahoo.com...PERO..... YOU CAN SURF USING AN IP ADDRESS. Try typing an IP address ng kilala mong site the address bar mo.
Yahoo - 209.13.136.158
Google - 64.233.179.104
Pag ganon ang nangyayari, dapat mo i-static DNS server mo. Tatawag ka na sa ISP to check kung ano DNS server address ang gumagana ng matino.


Pwede ka magkamali kung to gagawin mo:


>>bro try mo ito, start ---> run ----> type command or cmd
>>then sa command prompt type mo ipconfig /all

Why? Kasi kahit di ka nakaconnect sa internet, possible na makakuha ka ng IP. 169.x.x.x. Winxp kc may auto configure IP. Windows nagaasign ng IP sa sarili. So kung ang IP mo nagsimula sa 169. Sigurado di ka connected.


Kung hinala mo firewall. Recreate PPPoE client. Try restarting sa safemode with networking. Try to connect. O kaya, msconfig, disable mo lahat ng start up items, restart. Try mo rin.

Pero sa kaso mo... DNS lang. :)
