HELP network/IP setup, i keep getting "Limited or no connectivity" - SOLVED

we assembled a basic Pentium D dual core 2.66 rig yesterday, we also bought a cnet 8port switch, we set up winxp and other stuff kahapon para network setup na lang 2day para magkainternet, after setting up at the router/switch part we plugged the LAN cable and the ethernet was blinking but then the "Limited or no connection" msg came up, i tried evrything i knew how(coz it happend to me before) like manually assigning an IP, re-setting to Automatically obtain, changing the LAN to HUB porition of the cables, reintall winxp, "set up small home and office network", but to no avail it still has the msg "limited or no connectivity" and im stumped, can anyone help, this is the 2nd setup we made na 80meters ang haba nung cable since 4 houses ang layo, ung una 80 meters wala naman problem eh, since may DSL router the DHCP should assign an IP to the new PC pero parang ayaw tanggapin nung pc, i dnt know why

pare may real IP ba na binigay sayo ang ISP mo? or Dynamic IP ang sayo?

kung naka static IP ka, baka mali lang ang pag assign mo ng IP sa bawat PC mo. Kung dynamic ka nman baka hindi lang naka share ang internet sa server mo..
kung ako sayo setup an proxyserver then dun mo testing kung may internet na binibigay sayo un ISP mo..

 or better yet call *1888 for inquiries. ngkaganyan din ang sakin and solve n ung problem pg 2matawag aq jan.

since online naman yuing ibang PC sabi mo working naman yung iba so check mo nlang setting nung pc..ping mo yung DG ng RTR mo or baka nasa cabling mo since its so long naman

yes mahaba pero nagkikita naman sya and ung other setup ko na 80 meters as soon as we plugged the LAN may IP and internet agad

Check mo muna to baka may nagalaw na settings........

Goto:

1. Network Neighborhood
2. In the Left panel window click "View network settings"
3. Right click on "Local Area Connection"
4. Click Properties
5. In general tab be sure that all components has been checked for example "TCP/IP".....
6. Done.

It means that the computer can only detect your router. Not the Internet.
Try and Experiment this.
Try mo unplug the first connection which is the first house and plug your connection on the 2nd house.
If it doesnt work, Try and disable and abling the Network Connection again.

The problem with this is Minsan ang router eh hindi makaconnect sa modem. Because modem as usual is giving you a real IP from your ISP. BUt the router doesnt recognize that IP. Also consider na ang Router mo is Configure to accept DHCP config.

And 80 meters is parang mahaba. Baka hindi kaya ng COnnection nyo? Anong speed ba Internet nyo?

Bro na check mo yung CABLE (RJ45&utp cable) mo?? baka kasi may sira? or try mo muna sa ibang PC yung cable na ginagamit mo.. ??

mga master i tested the 80 meter cable and it works fine for lan and internet, kc dinala ko ung pc ko dun sa bahay ng pinsan ko and plugged my own pc, eh gumana ung LAN and ung internet so it means wala sa Lan cable, router o hub ang problem, ung PC ng pinsan ko ayaw tanggapin ung DHCP IP assigenment na binibigay nung router, pag manual assign naman since 192.168.100-149 gumagawa naman sya ng sarili network, nakakainis, any thoughts?

Hey bro xtian63, may i know the model number of your router please...

Option 1: Try to disconnect your router and try to connect your PC directly to your modem. Connect to the internet, just to make sure na walang problema yung modem mo.

Option2: Try to reset you router for 10sec > power cycle your router for at least 2 minutes.

Option3: Upgrade the firmware of your router.

Bro, option lang muna yung binigay ko sa'yo. Mas matutulungan kita pag may model number ka ng ROUTER mo lalo na pag D-LINK yan. (e.g. DI-624)

thanx for all the input, it was a PHYSICAL PROBLEM pala with the LAN cable, we just replaced it with a new 80 meter LAN cable, and now it works, DHCP has assigned all 7 pcs in our compound with thier own IPs
