Traydor ng Bayan O Tunay Na Bayani?
History repeats itself. Are you going to let a great leader pass again?
When Filipinos watched Heneral Luna, we were disgusted how politicians and rich businessmen conspired against a brutal, vulgar, and violent General who used profanity in getting his message across. "Malupit. abusado at mayabang" that was the excuse of Buencamino, the rich businessman, in assassinating Luna.
The rich politicians and businessmen favored the illustrado Emilio Aguinaldo over Luna. And ever since we had sweet talking illustrado leaders but our country still hungers for change. In fact an heir of Aguinaldo, a cultured and educated gentleman, makes us curse and say "pu.... 'na!" everyday because of traffic and MRT!
Everyone applauded Luna even if he had a flawed personality with a mistress and an Articulo Uno killing kind of discipline. Why?
Because he loved his country and he was willing to die for her.
Because he was against the sweet talking and "cultured" class who were collaborating with the rich self-interested politicians and businessmen.
Because he imposed discipline even if it meant killing offenders.
Because he made us all guilty by asking the question "Bayan or sarili!"
However, some of Filipinos would rather become the Buencaminos of society, the self-righteous and the self-interested.
Wake-up do not vote for candidates who will be "cultured and sweet talking" yet they serve only the rich and privilege class. Haven't you had enough of being fooled into believing that they will offer anything new.
But I guess many still want to side with the Buencaminos because they will not impose Artikulo Uno. People would rather have leaders who are prim and proper even if they steal and favor their rich masters. Such leaders may not directly dirty their hands with killing but nevertheless they kill millions through corruption and resulting poverty everyday.
Ask the question - did he do good in serving the people?
Does he love his country?
