Because the posts have been removed/deleted/edited by the erring staff member, I personally cannot have a say on the matter, having not enough information to form the basis for a judgement or a conclusion regarding the matter. I have no record of the posts and replies in the "Clarified" thread.
What I have gathered from the involved staff member is he has asked some friends/members for personal financial assistance, using the site's private messaging system.
Any investigation into this matter will not involve reading private messages. Due to the site's privacy policy, the administration cannot "spy" on any member's private messages. That is not our business.
However, I have determined that some forum rules and etiquette were violated in this incident, specifically the modification of member's post without cause, and disciplinary actions will be meted accordingly.
