Senior Superintendent Mark Belarma, deputy director of the Southern Police District, identified the victim as Remigio Tan.
Belarma said Tan owns a condominium unit in the area. According to Noemi Nullay, Ang's household helper, the victim left his condo on board a Honda Civic
, with license plate TNM-865, at around 9 a.m. to buy some groceries at a nearby supermarket. When he returned around 12:15 p.m., the car suddenly exploded at the gate of the condominium.
"No lacerations were noticed on the body of the victim caused by sharpnels or high velocity materials ruling out a bomb explosion," police investigators said.
Police suspected a can of thinner found at the car’s backseat as the caused of the explosion.
