Depends on what your budget is and on what your requirements are.

Linksys is generally better, easy to set up, more firmware upgrades available, but usually more expensive. If your bandwidth requirements are high or will have multiple simultaneous users, go 802.11n.

Make sure you get a surge protector though. Power outages mess up routers pretty quickly.

im more a fan of dlink... nakaka 4 na ako n linksys in span of 5 years in computer shop business.  try ko muna dlink. up to now naman ok pa naman cya. mag one year na.

maganda tingnan yung linksys like belkin routers - aesthetics. There are other brands that offer same robust service and would cost less.

try ASUS routers. 

im using edimax and have been using the same router since 2005.

also, some are saying there is a big difference if your ISP modem and you router are complementing or a match with each other.

D-LINK = PANGET!  Lagi disconnected pag idLe ang internet!

Naka D-Link ako ngayon, kaya nagsisisi ako ngayon.  Mumurahin Lang kasi!  Huhuhu..

actually guys tama lahat ng post nyo and it really depends on type of connection nyo, in terms of internet providers, dito sa pinas DSL ang connection natin which is swak na swak sa Linksys because out from the box it was already configured as DSL or PPPoE. in other hand D-Link fit for CABLE connections or what we call Dynamic. So ang D-Link out from the box Dynamic configuration sya. Try nyo mag ask sa mga relatives nyo sa US, Canada or UK. Ask nyo ano mas prferred na router don (Kasama na don ibang brands) ang mga Internet service providers kasi nila mostly are Cables or Dynamic.

aahhh.. very informative.. ganun pala difference ng d-link saka ng linksys.. nway, i use d-link ngaun.. gamit lang sya para sa bahay.. para puwede ko magamit yung laptop ko for wireless internet.. so far ok naman sya.. 

question lang.. how do you set up yung para sa security ng d-link? hindi ko pa kasi na configure eh.. kaya ngayon kahit sino puwede makagamit ng internet ko.. hehe

mas madali set up ang linksys. at stability wise and product brand mas ok. CISCO ang gumawa ng linksys routers.

my wifi modem before was linksys WRT54g and ive switched to D-link DIR-655 and believe you me, D-link is faster, wifi wise, the best ever ive used, better than linksys . . . 
note: didnt have the problems youve encountering on your D-link, maybe it is the low class mod type. . .try mine D-link DIR-655 you might think about it the second time
