Topic: Sony announces PS3 game prices for US: $59.99

We didn't make a big fuss over those crazy 'spensive Japanese PS3 game prices announced yesterday, since it was pretty much a given that the US prices would be lower than the straight Yen-to-Dollar conversion, and it turns out that's exactly the case. Sony is matching Microsoft's main Xbox 360 pricepoint at a "mere" $59.99, with all 7 games now available for pre-order at the Sony Style online store. Sure, we wouldn't have complained if Sony somehow decided to undercut MS on next-gen game prices, but we suppose that's wishful thinking at this point. Ah well, there's always the Wii, right?

*atleast sony is starting to do things right, but is this only a way to attract game buyers, Sony will garner major losses in software sales coz BluRay Disc production isnt cheap, i hope this isnt a marketing tactic to get gamers to buy consoles and games then when theyve sold a lot JACK up the prices on games

marami kasing magagandang games sa ps2 as of now, mas maganda talga if capable mag play or read the ps2 cd games (Orignal) sa console ng ps3 dba...

i have a lots of ps2 games cd here kasi sayang kasi hindi ko magagamit ang mga ps2 cd games if ill buy ps3 pamaskuhan ko sa sarili ko heheheh

Baka hindi po pwede bossing. Kasi sabi nila sa G4 Con d2 eh. Blue ray disc is a blue ray disc. So ibig sabihin eh hindi pede ibang CD..Except for i think mga music. Hindi pa nmn ako sure, baka gagayahin nmn nila yung Wii..At baka irevive din ung mga mgagandang games sa PS2 dun sa PS3. so wait nalng tau.

59.99 masyado namn mahal yan. I bet madami tao parin bibili pero sora naman kung 3 ang bibilhin monga games halos $150 na. Ill just wait for the official release not the preorder one.

there are strong speculation that the BLU-RAY drive can only read blu-ray discs and media ergo its not possible to read DVD or DVD9 since they use different lenses to decrypt the date encoded on the media discs UNLIKE the HD DVD drive which has 100% reverse compatiblity with DVD and DVD9 thus allowing XBOX360 owner to enjoy oldschool classics like HALO 2

A LITTLE TIDBIT ABOUT HDDVD is that HD content can be DOWNLOADED and BURNED dirctly on standard HD DVD drives meaning u dnt need HD DVD RW to add more data, meaning HD DVD movies u buy in nov can be upgraded when new HD content comes out in dec saving you $$$ coz u dnt have to buy another copy of the movie with the new content, imagine XBOX360 HD Games, patches and upgrades foe the games can be added to one copy of that game only

The PS3 is capable of playing both PS1 and PS2 games...sabi ng Sony with the use of an emulator which sony developed...as for ur memory cards...sorry walang slot ng ps1 or ps2 memory cards sa ps3...labo no? may slot para sa compact flash, mmc, sd-mmc at memory stick pero walang slot ng playstation memory card...pero my ilalabas silang accessory na u can connect thru usb na jack para sa playstation memory cards natin...sana nakatulong sa question...good day
