Are you suffering from speed problems with your utorrent then follow this :

*First open utorrent
*Secondly select open preferences
*Check whether your setting are like these before



*set the Maximum upload rate to a optimum value ie.10kbps for 2mbps connection and the Maximum download rate to maximum speed ie.353kbps for the same connection




*Set the netmaxhalfopen value to 50 or try even 100 if it works but 50 is the optimum value

*then start download watch your speed

LOL, just want to clarify this thread, no offense with the TS, di po totoo to, set lang ng download yan, the question is, naka open ba ang port ng utorrent sa modem broadband mo? kasi the downloads by seeds and peers depends yun kung naka open ang port ng utorrent mo sa modem mo, sa preferences makikita mo yung naka set na port jan, then kelangan mo iport forward yan sa modem, then dun lang magkakaaccess ang mga source ng dinadownload mong files, check niyo to mga bro www.portforward.com, then hanapin niyo ang utorrent, there is a guide how to port forward the ports of utorrent

depende yan sa mga model ng modem broadband niyo, tingnan niyo muna tatak ng modem niyo then hanapin mo sa www.portforward.com, after nun hanapin niyo naman yung software na gusto niyong iportforward, kahit dota pwede para makapagcreate kau sa battlenet, maganda punta kau sa www.portforward.com, iba iba interface ng mga web gui ng mga modem so di pwepwede ang sa akin, steps nalang bibigay ko sa inyo.

look for Default Gateway na provided ng DHCP ng modem niyo,

most common is 192.168.1.1

type niyo yung Default Gateway sa isang web browser, IE or Mozilla, dun sa address tab niya.

then lalabas ang web gui ng isang modem,
common user name to be use is "admin"
common password is "password or "admin"

then thats it, look for the guide sa www.portforward.com, kung saang tab nakalagay ang port forward ng isang modem router, ilalagay niyo dun yung destination IP which is the IP of your modem, and then the type of protocol, both TCP at UDP at the same time kasama yung port na nakalagay sa application na gusto niyong iportforward, like sa Warcraft ang port niyan is 6112

why will you limit the upload, asymmetric naman usually ang connection. if everybody will follow this tip lalong babagal ang torrent kasi magkukuripot kayo sa upload eh pano na  magdodownload ang mga tao..

utorrent now supports upnp so no need to port forward, just enable upnp in utorrent AND your router (kung may router ka). kung wala, hope that your DSL modem supports upnp. that way you wont have to open the port since upnp will automatically do it for you.

also, i cannot fathom how this will work. if anything this will only cause havoc with the torrent community. as mentioned, if everyone does this, the effect will be less download speed for everyone

although yes, theoretically doing this will allow you to connect to more seeders since you will be limiting the number of peers (those who upload from you)

basically what this will do is limit your upload so you can focus on download. kaso masama ang effect nito sa torrent as a whole if everyone does this. this will mean less download speed for others.

para lang ata to sa atat sa idndl kasi alam ko pag ginawa mo to kakainin nya ung internet speed mo at wala k n matitira para magbrowse ng net..

just dont change the default settings.. nasa seeders lng nmn yan kung wala seeders dedo na ung torrent.

di naman lahat ng broadband is supports nia yung upnp, dahil ang internet broadband modem ko dati speedstream 4200, di niya automatically set ang port ng isang application, ngyon nagpalit na ako ng ProLink, eto automatic na nag portforward, so di lahat support ang sinasabi mo.

my advise to max out ur torrent connection is try to consider the ff:

1. Stable Internet Connection

2. Number of Seeders & Leechers (Use Private Trackers)

3. Configuration of Bittorrent Client.
