bro, its hard to say from this end on how severe your ankle strain is. it may be a Grade II- grade III sprain. what you could do is RICE (R- rest the foot for 48 hours, or more; I- ice pack for 20 mins every 3-4 hours during the first 48 hrs.; C- compression bandage; E- elevate the foot to minimize swelling); you can take paracetamol for pain, but i advise you be assessed by a fellow doctor within 2-3 days to check you out.
