Helms and Jericho mugshots
This story has changed several times today, so here is a recap (which includes new details):
On Tuesday, WWE taped ECW/SmackDown in Cincinnati, OH. After the show, Chris Jericho, Gregory Helms, and Matt Hardy went out together. Jericho and Helms were drunk, Matt Hardy was sober. At approximately 4am, all three were in a cab with two other people (a man named Gary Kelley and a female passenger named Ashley Storer). The cab stopped at a gas station in Kenton County, KY.
Jericho and Helms were, "play fighting," in the cab.
There were conflicting reports, regarding the female passenger Ashley. Originally it was was reported that she was struck by Helms. Other sources claim that she was not, in fact, touched. Later, she made a public statement. She said Helms accidentally hit her with an elbow to the cheek, because she was sitting between Jericho and Helms. She said the incident was blown out of proportion, and that she actually made it worse, "I was crying and drunk and tired from being out all night and I just wanted to leave." The other man in the taxi also may, or may not, have been struck by Helms. Reportedly he told police that he was struck, but didn't want to press charges against Helms at this time.
In either event, Helms got out of the cab and ran away. Matt Hardy (sober) got out of the cab and chased after him. When Helms returned to the gas station, he was arrested. Helms and Jericho were charged with, "Alcohol Intoxication In A Public Place."
At approximately 5am, Helms and Jericho were bailed out of jail (reportedly $150 bond) by CM Punk and Christian.
