Here's an interesting take to the lifting of Proclamation1959. Ano sa palagay nyo mga kaespiya?

New Plot to extend Martial Law Bared

http://pinoyobserver.com/2009/12/new-plot-to-extend-martial-law-bared/

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago just validated an earlier blog entry by New Philippine Revolution on a new plot to extend the scope of martial law beyond Maguindanao and derail the May 10, 2010 elections. Code named “Oplan Alpha“, the plan reportedly involves top military and defense officials in a move to further extend the coverage of the martial law declaration to include the entire Metro Manila.

The first part of the plan involves the heightening of tensions in the ARMM provinces to justify the extension of martial rule beyond Maguindanao. Signs that Malacanang is planning to widen the scope were indicated days after December 4, when AFP Vice Chief of Operations Gaudencio Fernandez suggested a wider scope and extended period of implementing Proclamation 1959. This was seconded by some Muslim local executives who even suggested of placing Lanao, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi under martial law.
Military has tasted power and wants more, says Santiago

Military has tasted power and wants more, says Santiago

Fernandez’ remarks reportedly irk AFP chief of Staff General Victor Ibrado who publicly countered Fernandez by saying that martial law will be lifted before Christmas. Yet, it seems that Ibrado is being neutralized by his own men and not being supported even by the Defense chief.

When asked when will martial law be lifted in Maguindanao, Defense secretary Norberto Gonzales was non-committal and refused to answer or give a date. Gonzales recently went to Singapore on  a serious and highly secretive meeting. That meeting, says some sources, involved some generals, representatives of businessmen, US officials and members of the clergy.

The highly suspicious outbreaks of violence are alarming, says Senator Santiago. Santiago surmised that these events could be linked and being staged to create a scenario of fear and lawlessness to justify the extension of martial law.

Sources say, the cabal targets December 16 as an auspicious date for them to stage their plot. Congress will vote on December 15 whether or not to approve Proclamation 1959. While the palace is expected to file their counter-argument against anti-Martial law petitioners filed before the Supreme Court by Monday, December 14. Sources say Ibrado is also recommending to the President by Monday the lifting of the proclamation by Tuesday, December 15, ahead of the expected voting of Congress.

If this does not push thru, then, a group of generals will declare a withdrawal of support from Mrs. Arroyo after Christmas or on the second week of January 2010. This will be the last attempt at seizing power prior to the May 10, 2010 elections.

And why is this cabal interested on grabbing power? And why they are being supported by some US officials?

Simple.

There is a big energy project off the coasts of Sulu. This is the exploration of billions of barrels of oil beneath the seabed of Sulu. This is an American project which needs to be assured of their security and safety against terrorism and lawless elements in Mindanao.

Hindi sila maka angal so it is us who have the means to make angal for them.

KAya nung masaker, hayun, THEY FINALLY GET THEIR CHANCE TO GET RID OF THEM......

I agree with the Martial Law Proclamation in Maguindanao..in terms of effectively apprehending the Ampatuans..alot of people worried about it kasi baka they might be filed only with rebellion and be acquitted of multiple murder..which is arguable and in my opinion not true, kasi rebellion and multiple murder are clearly different cases..they can be tried for both cases..but here's my worry..rebellion is a heavier case, and rebellion + politics = amnesty..another worry, yung evidences na na-collect ng army and police thru out the period of martial law sana would be used for both cases..better kung sa multiple murder nalang instead of rebellion..kasi magkakaroon ng technicality yan in my assessment..those ammunitions collected might be inadmissible in court for the filing of multiple murder versus the Ampatuans. Pwedeng maging argument ng defense yun that all were collected during Martial Law, meaning due to threats of rebellion and not because of a criminal investigation..actually both sides can argue on this kasi warrantless lahat ng searches and arrest..saka isa pang problema halos lahat ng ammunition e government issued ofcourse..from gov't to civillian volunteer organization issued firearms to illegal firearms ang transition when martial law was declared..another one is there was no hard evidence of rebellion..sana lang our justices would not only be fair, not be a bunch of cowards, but open their eyes to the reality..P*I* naman!..the evidences, the testimonies of the witnesses and even the testimonies of those people directly and indirectly involved in the massacre coincides with each other and is greatly overwhelming against the Ampatuans..saka sana ikulong nila tong mga 'to kahit under investigation palang..i know they made arrests..they were arrested..pero asan sila, they're not in prison..they're in vacation..they're in rich prison..samantalang yung ibang directly involved na tauhan ng mga Ampatuan na nagtestify against them..WITNESSES..hindi sila pumatay but they're attacked by their conscience..they're in prison..some of them unprotected, vulnerable. It's time for a change people..its sad how the generation we're following blows goats.. smoking::

In any case, Arroyo wants international community approval for extension, I assume, and the only way to do this, is to go the route of shift by means of at least a ConAss.. I think, the end game has just begun.. Although, however we feel about Arroyo, I do give her credit for being politically savvy enough to always keep opposition on their toes, and always guessing.. that’s the one thing I have to hand her.

I agree..she's a step ahead on this one..sabi nga ng ibang journalist, if the allegations of this Martial law being a trial is true, nautakan niya ang opposition..almost everyone..hands down she did if it was..we'll never know till it happens..pretty much, everything right now is a bunch of speculations.

I know that. If you only saw their escorts, walang sinabi ang pangulo ng Pilipinas! WE JUST BASE OUR ASSUMPTIONS ON OUR EXPERIENCES. BULAG PO AT BINGI ANG MEDIA PAGDATING SA MINDANAO. Sana naman, this time around, nagising na sila !!! gun::  Para hindi na ulit mangyari ang tulad nito.

I may not be from Mindanao but I know there are armed forces other than the government in that part of the country. I'm from Metro Manila and I can tell you we don't have the threat of an MILF, ABU SAYYAF and other extremist. Also, roads are well lit and there are no "deserted" road sides.
