: Computer restarts, after shutdown
: astute2869 July 31, 2014, 10:32:45 PM
Mga kaespiya, may problema ako ngayon, bagong bili lang tong gigabyte 970A-DS3P and fx6300 6core processor.
now ang problema, kapag nag shutdown ako, nagboboot up ulit siya. Note: didint do a clean install after swapping board and cpu.
Tried removing cmos battery and putting it back, no luck. Note: I cant even access bios, all i see is the logo (UEFI DUAL BOIS) sa taas ng screen) i cant even move the cursor. naghahang siguro.
Ang suspect ko nasa bios ang problema, kasi di ko pa nasisilip ni minsan, and try the proper settings. like power management.
now tiningnan ko sa CMD (powercfg -devicequery wake_armed) yung list ng pwedeng magwake/power up ng computer. List: mouse and keyboard both ps/2. Lan chip (i disabled lan chip at device manager, then tiningnan ko ulit, keyboard at mouse na lang.
i tried updating bios using gigbytes @bios feature. wala yta akong qflash.

PS- i cant find through google searches kung compatible mobo ko sa windows 8.1.
might as well do a clean install na lang. Para matingnan kung saan pa talaga problema.

Startup-Shutdown is usually caused by 2 things

1) Heat to the CPU
2) Insufficient power from the PSU

i tried looking at the hardware, reassembled it.
i stumbled something in the manual its called "soft-off", i have this soft off with the options.
1. Press power button to shutdown (instant)
2.Long press power button to shutdown (4 seconds delay) if you press quicker than 4 seconds, it will just go for suspend instead of full shutdown.
the default is instant.
i tried this feature and i never got the start up after shutdown thing.

btw, do you have any ideas on how my bios is not working? i've read some reviews that gigabyte bios are laggy, mine is freezing.
