: pa help po about RAM
: tiberionx September 26, 2011, 05:14:21 AM
ganito po kasi ..

So i'm installing two 2GB ram on my asus P5N-MX, but whenever i do so, i always freeze and eventually crash the system. so i tried using only one of each on each slot and seems to be working fine.

it also says i can only use 3.25 GB of ram when i have both sticks installed

ram im installing are 2 800 mhz pc26400 ddr2

i am also running a 64-bit win 7

do i need to do something else to make this work?

sa aking masusing pag sisiyasat nabasa ko to. from asus website ng board mo.

***When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.

maybe the problem's either on the mobo or the ram, if both still have warranties might as well replace it

baka may compatibily issues ang dalawa since nasabi mo na ok sila pareho kung magisang stick na pagaganahin mo.

Or maybe not enough voltage for your 2 ram sticks.

yung sa 3.25 lang nakikita mong usable. may separate video card ka ba? or onboard video? if onboard video, its normal

dun naman sa hindi magwork yung dalawa pag sabay. nung natry mo isa lang, did you try on both slots? baka yung isang slot ang may problem

or more commonly, its a compatibility issue between the two ram modules

Hi,

here's the recommended upgrade.

4GB kit (2GBx2)
DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64 •   â€¢  Part #: CT2KIT25664AA667

am im installing are 2 800 mhz pc26400 ddr2

pc2-6400 is beyond on the recommended memory upgrade for P5N-MX.

Hope this could resolve your current issue.

your mobo is more or less the same as my desktop pc assembled last 2007.  It's still good up to now.  I used only 1 stick 2g ram.

I also had the same problem before when i installed 2 pieces 1g ram sticks even if it both have the same specs.

So use only 1 stick, it does not matter what module you use.

yeah chineck ko ulit sa asus.com kelangan ko i OC yung cpu to use the 800mhz sticks properly pero ayaw ko naman mag OC

so try ko UC yung ram sa bios, ang hirap, lagi ako long beep, had to reset the cmos several times
