Sony has begun to deny any errors from day one releases of the Vita. The handheld was launched only five days ago and sold well above expectations - much greater than the PSP. However, people have started to complain about technical issues such as having problems turning off the device, freezing and the lack of response from the new touchscreen.

Japanese video game site Rocket News 24 has detailed the major problems and was picked up by news services around the world. A spokesperson has said for Sony that they will not be apologizing at all and the company will not acknowledge if and how widespread the problem is.

Sony was quite upset about the reports saying "PS Vita has had a terrific launch and sold in large numbers, we're annoyed with these stories, because we can't find any evidence of widespread glitches." Despite the fact there are over 50 videos online about problems the Vita has had since it's launch.  David Wilson from Sony's UK PR has said that the stories are from Japanese websites and they have issued an "apology for those trying to get through to the technical help line."

I actually think there will be a lot more glitches that will come out post-Christmas as Sony has been reporting of only a few online activations, despite the sales. Wilson has acknowledged that some people are experiencing problems with the Vita but they are isolated incidents or do not have evidence of design or manufacturing flaws from Sony.

I have to say there are only a few stories and videos, and considering that it's 100 out of the 200,000+ Vita consoles out there, it's a very miniscule problem. To put that in perspective, at the time Microsoft's red ring of death or the E74 error, became "popular" it was corrupting 33% of it's 10 million+ consoles. Right now the Vita problem is barely 5%, so Sony is in no hot water in my book at this point in time.
