change oil
« on: October 29, 2008, 09:41:14 pm »
may question lang ako about sa change oil.

i got my surplus kia sportage (which is so very common here in cebu) mga 2 years ago. my first car, so up to now, i'm not really that knowledgeable about cars.  i drive my car mga 40 kms a day.

i change my engine oil once every four months, sa shell service station.  the first time nag pa change oil ako, they used flushing oil and also changed the oil filter. i consented kasi that's what they recommended.

so now, everytime nag pa change oil ako, they use flushing oil and change the oil filter. is this necessary? pwede ba na once a year lang i pa change ang oil filter? and necessary ba yung flushing oil? kasi i read somewhere na sometimes, pag excessive yung flushing oil, it can do more harm than good because it removes even yung mga deposits around the seal rings, which sort of protects the rings.

thanks,
I don't judge other people.  I just laugh at their mistakes.

You also have to change the filter every time magpa change oil ka.

Ako whatever oil nakalagay, every 5 thousand km nagpapa change oil ako.
