Please Help OS Corrupt?
« on: May 02, 2015, 08:48:43 pm »
Mga bro help  especially kay bodieph help bro!

when I open my pc lumlabas ang windows boot manager before sabi niya hindi na close ng maayus then I click continue lumlabas ang windows boot manager since isang hdd lang namn gamit ko it says choose OS na gagamitin I choose windows 7 ultimate then continue bumabalik siya sa windows boot manager so what I did l added an HDD from my old PC para maayus lang yung Windows I open the windows then restart and went to BIOS then reselect my original HDD baka maayus still the same. Now I am using my old hdd which sucks ang file ko sa original HDD ko and my bookmarks are there.

Question can I still fix my Original OS Windows? How? or corrupt na talaga ang OS ko sa original HDD ko?   How can I fix it?

Please SOS!

medyo magulo tanong mo (original vs. luma? baka maayus still the same? huh?) kung kaya mo naman imount yung HDD at narerecognize pa sya from inside windows gamit yung lumang HDD mo, e di kaya pa irecover yan.

P.S. hindi nacocorrupt ang OS, program lang din naman yan, nothing more.

"Now I am using my old hdd which sucks ang file ko sa original HDD ko and my bookmarks are there."

Kung connected yung original HDD mo, subukan mong i-scan/fix for errors -sa Windows Explorer ->right click on orig HDD, choose Properties -> Tools tab ->Error checking -> Check now. (sometimes you might need to run this a 2nd  or 3rd time)

After error check, restart and try to boot from the orig HDD, you need to change HDD boot order in BIOS.

try mo ang checkdisk command. gawing mong slave yung original hdd mo, then open mo yung dos prompt. type mo "chkdsk/f e:" "e" for the drive letter of your original hdd.

Wait, programs can get corrupted as far as I know. Registry files can get corrupted making a program/OS inaccessible.

@Illongo-by-blood
From what you said, you are using your old HDD to boot Windows right? If files are your major concern, is it not accessible in the file manager of your current Windows OS? You can also put the HDD in an enclosure and try to access your files from there.

programs == software, memory slots such as RAM, registry on disk, FILES (abstraction, but really just physical changes on lowest level hardware), etc == hardware. so walang "software" corruption, yung memory blocks lang nacocorrupt, so bale kung papalitan mo OS na magreread, kung yung location naman yung corrupted, wala din.

try mo different OS as host pag mount, not windows, i.e. mandriva, linux, MAC, baka sakali maread yung parts at marecover mo pa.

Ok get it. Hetu yung situation ko. I have the one HDD before in my PC its a seagate and when I open my PC hindi ko ma access yung windows it just goes to the Windows Boot Manager kahit anung gagawin ko so I tried to fix the windows by putting my old HDD na Western Digital. I open the bios and use WD as a priority Drive. It works fine but the Windows 7 na nasa WD ay hindi genuine but I just used it anyway just to reboot baka sakaling maasyus ang Windows ng seagate but it did not wok aswell.

My question is is there a way na magagamit ko ang Seagate ko because it faster and I have the files there. The WD is just a backup HDD. Pwede bang maayus ang Windows ko sa seagate?

Ok, I think I get where you're coming from, you are saying that corruption as in physical corruption of the hardware, in the case of files/registries you are referring to their physical location in the HDD, did I understand it right? But files can also be corrupted without damage to the hardware part of it right?

Some viruses/malwares alter the files properties to make it inaccessible, the memory blocks are still fine physically (as in the hardware part), but the data part of it is corrupted.

@Illongo-by-blood

Can you see and access the WD HDD in the file manager of Windows 7 installed in your Seagate HDD?

Do you still have the installer disc of Windows? You can try to boot into it and choose repair Windows, it might work but it still a good idea to backup your files if you can access it via the file manager of Windows 7 installed in the Seagate HDD.

when it gets down to it, yung "software corruption" na tinutukoy natin is just a falsely charged physical particle (signal 0 when program expects 1 == incomplete file descriptor == "corrupted" file). the nearest I can get to a "corrupt" OS is corrupted files sa loob ng System32.

So lahat actually about computers is in the physical aspect, (except for quantum computing) yung software is just interface existing on the higher level, it can be erroneous/error prone, pero it can't be corrupted.. everything that most people refer to as "OS" is just an abstraction of concepts na nageexist physically sa loob ng computer (Files, permissions, etc. everything that gets corrupted). :D

pero corrupted != damaged physically (permanent) syempre, kaya may recovery. what I'm saying is, dun sa tanong ni TS, hindi masosolve ng paglipat ng same OS (software) na same ang reading protocol yung problema sa corrupted files, since nasa hardware level yung fault nyan. kailangan mo ng ibang OS na iba yung reading/recovery protocol, or specialized recovery software.

yan na nga feeling ko ang solution just click repair reformat na lang instead of reprogram I still have the installer Thanks all...

This is what I meant (registry files/ etc.), and what I think the TS meant.

@Illongo-by-blood

Sir bodieph might still chime in, maybe he would have a better solution/suggestion but if time is a factor then in my opinion backing up files, reformating your WD HDD then reinstalling Windows would be the fastest option (aside from trying the repair Windows option).

Siguro last option na yung  clean install ng W7.  Meron ka namang installer DVD, subukan mong mag-boot dito at subukan ang "Repair your computer"  para marating ang System Recovery Options screen. Try mo muna "Startup repair".

if you were still able to access your files using your backup hdd as the os, i suggest back it up already and reformat your hdd... it is still the best solution rather than trying to fix your hdd for errors...

With only the Seagate hdd connected, boot from the DVD installer. Click lang hanggang marating mo yung ganitong screen and choose "Repair your computer"

Piliin mo ang tamang installed na windows paglumabas ang ganitong screen

click mo yung Next. (Kapag walang Windows 7 OS na na-detect, malamang clean install na lang solution after mo na backup yung mga files.) :(

Click on "Startup Repair" and pray  ;D

Good luck!

pag boot mo, press F8, there will be several options there, check if any works (i.e. safe mode, repair your computer, last known good configuration, etc)

kung before pa lang dun, lumalabas na yung boot manager, the other option would be to do a repair install by using the windows installer

also try to do checkdisk and surface scan on your old HDD, baka nagkaron lang ng bad sector and natama dun sa boot file
