Ferdinand Marcos - the best president?

In textbook, si Marcos ay masama. sa TV masama din. My father always said before that he's the best president of the Philippines, my teacher also said that. sa ibang place, ang mga matatanda na napagtatanungan ko the best din daw nung time nya. Mga classmates ko yun din ang sabi. I'd been to different places in Philippines Marcos din.

nung time nya, number 2 tayo sa Asia. tayo nag eexport ng bigas, maunlad tayo. alang spratllys.

napag iisip isip ko lang. paano kung hindi kaya siya natanggal sa pwesto. ano na kaya status ng bansa natin? Para kaseng naisahan tayo ng mga greed people.

nung high school ako, martial law era nun. very progressive dito sa ilocos norte, mapayapa, walang NPA, walang krimen, parang Davao City ngayon with Duterte taking care of his people, ganun dito nun. tanungin ninyo kahit sinong ilokano kung sino ang greatest president, halos iisa ang magiging tugon namin. oo may bias kami sa kanya, hindi namin ikakaila at hindi namin ikinahihiya ang aming paghanga at pagrespeto sa kanya. yet. alam din namin na may mga nagdusa sa kanyang rehimen, hindi kami bulag sa katotohanan na yan. pero eto sasabihin ko sa mga kabataan ngayon: it was a very different time, there are compromises that needed to be done. nakikiramay ako sa mga nabiktima sa bad side ng kanyang pamumuno, taus puso akong naniniwala na sana mabigyan din sila ng hustisya. PERO GAYUNPAMAN, mali ang husgahan si Apo Marcos na totally na masama. may mga pagkukulang siya, oo. pero katiting lang yan sa nagawa niyang kabutihan. media lang naman at mga crony ni cory at cardinal sin ang nagpalala sa kanyang imahen.

Compared to all the Presidents that came into power after him, siya pa rin ang da best! no doubt about it. mas may value pa ang peso noong panahon ni Marcos.

During the Marcos regime, there were over 100,000 political prisoners in the military camps.  Almost all never went through proper due process since Marcos abolished the judiciary.

Hundreds of Millions of dollars were loaned during that time to finance all expenditures, including personal expenses.

With the Hundreds of Millions, Marcos built infrastructures, invested in Philippine culture, but also bought personal investments in the US worth Hundreds of Millions of dollars.

After Marcos left, the Philippines was in debt and the economy started to plummet.  People who were jailed never received anything compensation.

Hindi dahil mataas ang value ng peso nung panahon nya ay ibig sabihin magaling sya.  bumagsak ang peso ng sobra sobra dahil sa pinaggagagawa nya.  Now tell me that he's good.

 I completely remember the martial law days.  In my honest opinion, those were really good days.  What we see in Manila now was the work of the conjugal dictatorship... The reclaimed lands near Roxas blvd and it's edifices ( Picc/ ccp / folk arts and the coconut palace), the lrt and mrt , I remember the traffic jams near la salle Taft when they were constructing the mrt/lrt in 1983, the creation of the metro Manila commission, why even basketball under his crony Danding Conjuangco prospered....And this is a true, while on a date, at the old calesa bar at the hyatt, it was packed to the rafters, and a long line at the entrance and who were in line, waiting, bong bong and Irene Marcos and their friends... Would that happen now...I am that old to remember these things and probably nostalgic about the Philippines.

FM has started the Philippines downfall....if not himself, but people around him being selfish and corrupt...and Cory doesn't have the power to stop that downfall, then FVR, Erap, abd GMA.....

Best President (as a person/great character/leadership quality) i say it's FM.

Best Presidency: FM. Well, i grew up in FM era.

Ako I was born during marcos era but kakatanggal lg ng martial law nun dahil sa pag dating ng Pope dito sa Pinas(me portrait pa kme nung pope nun but can't find it na).The only thing I remember during that era was an election na sumama ako sa parents ko maybe I was 4 or 5years old by that time. Yun lg naalala ko.I got concious enough na sa panahon ni Ramos kasi.

mas matanda ka pa rin ;D.....kasi patapos na din ERA ni FM nun, and namulat talaga ako FVR....din nung si ERAP at GMA na pumikit na uli ako!

sa edad nating mga ka espiya walang nkaka alam ng totoong pang yayari dahil lahat tayo naki balita lang sa kung sino sino.. pero bakit kaya ganun nho.. pang ilan tayo sa wealthiest country noon noong panahon ni macoy?? bakit nya din kaylangan mga pa martial law? bakit may mga naapi? at bakit may mga crony?
kung pag babasihan natin ang ngaun at panahon ni macoy.. Si macoy kaya siguro mayaman ang bansa noon kc prinotektahan nya ang bansa.. ngaun nag hihirap ang bansa natin kc mga sumunod na humawak mga prinotektahan ang mga bulsa,, anu-ano ba ang nagawa ng mga rehemen pagtapos ni APO?

A smart guy definitely pero mahirap kasing sabing the best president kasi nga dictator... Ang difference kasi noon at ngayon dati may takot ang mga tao sa corruption hindi tulad ngayon na ang ibig sabihin pala ng demokrasya eh kanya-kanyang kurakot  :D

what!? best president? baka worst president. nung first term niya, it was almost the same with the previous administration, pero pagtuntong niya ng 2nd term, dun na tayo nakawawa. check nyo statistics. dahil sa kanya (or kay Imelda?), unti unti na tayong lumubog sa kahirapan. bumaba ang per capita income (GDP/GNP) at lalo pang lumubog sa mga sumunod na mga taon. meaning nahirapan na tayong bumangon.

so far, siya na ata pinakadecorated na president, top of his class, matalino and all that. pero evidence na mismo nagsasabi na sa admin niya nagsimula ang pagkalubog na pilipinas. biglang bagsak nung 2nd term niya.

di ko ito opinion. nabasa ko datos mula sa statisca.
