kelan pa kya ma improve yung airforce natin???
A military source confirmed the recently intrusion of a Chinese MIG-29 Fulcrums jet fighters into Philippine air space on Thursday last week. The Chinese jet fighters reportedly harassed the two OV-10 Broncos of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) on a routine reconnaissance patrol over the Reed Bank Basin near Palawan province.
The two PAF OV-10 pilots wanted to challenge the Chinese intruder jets but has no capability to engage so they had to back off and maintain their course.
The two foreign aircraft were MIG fighter jets and a lesser superior aircraft which were far and more sophisticated than the PAF planes.
“In terms of capability, we don’t actually have the detection and monitoring capability. We don’t have radars to check if they indeed intruded into our airspace. Second, if we indeed have that capability, we need interdiction [capability]. We don’t have capability to interdict or to intercept,†said Gen. Eduardo Oban Jr., chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). “The Military is still validating the report†he added.
“We do not even know if the sudden swing of USS Carl Vinson in the country has something to do with last Thursday’s incident in the South China Sea,†a military official said.
Meanwhile, Chinese Defense Minister Gen. Liang Guanglie is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines on Saturday. The alleged harassment of the two Chinese jet fighters is expected to be discussed during his meeting with Philippine Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin.
