i believe it

: Bill Clinton March 16, 2009, 05:02:49 PM
I'm more inclined to believe the lotto rigging than the currency manipulation to steal from the OFW's. Exchange rate policies are dictated by the Bangko Sentral. There are no "actual" and "manipulated" exchange rates, if that were the case, it would spell trade/ transaction difficulties in business dealings. The only difference is in the buying and selling rate which is dictated by market forces.

Sa lotto naman, it doesn't sound too far fetched.

The lotto part I still don't believe it. alam ko they take money from PCSO pero to rig it & make the sons of GMA winners, hindi yan. tsaka yung exhange rate. how can they manipulate it? edi na-sanction na sila kahit papano di ba?
: Re: Shocking News from World Bank (totoo kaya?)
: Legsman March 16, 2009, 05:18:43 PM
i dont think totoo itong sulat na ito..i dont think the World Bank will use such words as "OBAMA, avoids your president like a stinking leper"

this is a hoax..
: Re: Shocking News from World Bank (totoo kaya?)
: ocacute March 16, 2009, 05:23:25 PM
: Re: Shocking News from World Bank (totoo kaya?)
: ipcmlr March 16, 2009, 05:31:47 PM
Yung currency natin  pinabayaan ng i dictate ng market di ba? I'm sure pag nabaliw ang peso at nag todo inflation malamang i try din syempre i control ng gobyerno/central bank. So yun lang sakin.

some parts maybe true some are white lies. beside a document from WB would be more carefully (diplomatic) words. I think this was written to make it appear as a document coming from the WB.

fake.
reason #1 - World Bank does not release blatant and defaming article to the public. it would just lose its integrity.
reason #2 - The article is not properly cited. Its a hate letter, obviously.
reason #3 - one of the lotto winners is a security guard in my building. so the price did not go to PGMA's sons.
: Re: Shocking News from World Bank (totoo kaya?)

The story might be true but the flaws are in the composition of the letter that even a university undergrad or a highschool student can write something like this. All I am saying is that the words that the writer used lacks appropriateness.
: Re: Shocking News from World Bank (totoo kaya?)
: mr.screw March 16, 2009, 08:17:27 PM
I think it's fake. But I think the government can manipulate the currency exchange and make the peso a bit more stronger. Like what they did with the EVAT. It increases the the tax collection of the government and in return the government have some more money to put on it's savings (KUNG MERON MAN) and pay international debts. Tanggalin yung EVAT sigurado ako bagsak din ang peso. but the government should find other ways to earn more revenues para matanggal na yang EVAT. I think that's how they manipulate it. pero yung sa lotto.. diba tinitimbang nila yung mga bola dun. kung malaki man yung iba siguro bibigat din ang timbang nun. pero alam naman natin basta kung meron gustong mangdaya gagawa at gagawa sila ng paraan para makapangdaya. I know some people who also won in lotto pero yung sa mga maliliit lng na prices.

It's actually from Pasay (although the winner lives in Caloocan, a 50 year old woman) and the other from Pasig, and as of March 5 was still unclaimed.. I don't know how you got that news that a winner came from Pampanga.. probably came from the guy who wrote that hate letter..  ;D

We all know that everybody in every government corruption really takes place parang di na maalis yan pero ang pinagtataka ko lang sa world bank if ever na totoo to bakit parang mas concern ata siya sa mga lotto draw? and if ever na totoo ang lahat ng sinabi ng WB show the evidences im not a pro or against the government im just for the truth.

We don't have enough dollar reserves to manipulate the currency.  Our currency is more stable than first world countries now, because when the big MNC's cut costs, they often resort to retrenchment.  But retrenching does not mean they stop operations.  A lot of the processes that can be outsourced are outsourced to 3rd world countries (like us).  A lot of times, they also retrench regular staff and hire skilled workers from 3rd world countries who agree to do the same work at a cheaper rate.  These offset the loses of the big companies in the Philippines.

I'm more inclined to believe the lotto rigging than the currency manipulation to steal from the OFW's. Exchange rate policies are dictated by the Bangko Sentral. I dont think this is a legit letter coming from world bank, first no name, who in world bank sent it, if this is true that this is from world bank, WHAT THE HELL DO THEY CARE about our lotto and corrupt administration? globally we are having a crisis, and why would you think they will look at the philippine administration and spend some time to send this to numerous person... flattering mas importante pa pala pilipinas kesa sa crisi na dinadanas ng buond mundo para magsulat ang world bank.

2nd World bank is a very professional institution, they will not make a scam or deal with this kind of situation in this manner. knowing that they are putting a possible WRONG accusation sa gov.

3rd although we know that world bank can get further info that we could imagine, i dont think theyll be spendin some MONEY just to check the philippine goverment, and check the PCSO as well?

mukhang gawa na naman ito ng ISANG masugid na opposition ng administration na wala ng ginawa kungdi mangulo, sorry pero your not helping, your just making it more difficult not to the goverment but to the people...

last... exchange rate are based on the world market...

NOTE: all caps are just for emphasizing but not shouting =)
