Since Zuckerberg bought Occulus so its not surprising foe the "ball park" price as they say

How to sell Gadgets:
1) introduce a FLAGSHIP DEVICE with Premium Specs and Premium Price
2) piss off potential buyers
3) audit how many units are sold to fans who actually want it
4) see what the competition will offer and how much (PS VR)
watch if VR is a success or is a FLOP, remember 3D TVs
5) gauge the need for a more budget friendly lower spec model
6) release the Oculus One/10, the lower spec Xbox One/Low Spec PC compatible version
7) Undercut the competition
MS is doing what SONY did with the PS4, see what the competition has to offer and make adjustments
*all this is only a theory i believe with MS throwing in a FREE Xbox One Wireless Controller for free for every RIFT sold, MS and Oculus must have made a deal to make a lower spec for mass consumption for the Xbox One
