Cats and dogs in particular, pero mostly about dog.

my daughter is asking for a pet dog. and i am getting old na rin kasi so medyo sumagi sa isip ko na "why not breed dogs and make a profit out of it" kumbaga sideline or kung maganda kita baka maging source na rin ng income pagtanda (hindi naman kasi forever na magtatrabaho or mamamasukan na lang).

as for the type of dog na gusto ko alagaan:
1. pug <---eto number 1 na gusto ko
2. shih tzu <---- gusto naman ng anak ko
3. french bulldog

so mapupuna nyo sa list ko puro maliliit na aso lang.

So for the first question:
1. Ano yung "papers" na tinatawag? Madalas naririnig ko ito, "may papers" daw yung aso nila.
2. Paano malalaman na authentic yung papers?
3. Ano advantages ng dogs/cats with papers sa wala?
4. About vaccine naman: Ano yung 5 in 1? iba pa ba iyon sa antirabies vaccine? Gaano kadalas iyung 5 in 1? and magkano yung cost for 5 in 1 at antirabies?
5. Ano pinapakain sa mga puppies or ano recommended nyo na pagkain para sa puppies? mas tipid ba sa pagkain yung small breed of dogs kesa sa malalaki or malakas din kumain yung small dogs?

1. Ano yung "papers" na tinatawag? Madalas naririnig ko ito, "may papers" daw yung aso nila.
Papers are the identity of the dogs, parang birth certificate ng tao it indicates the line of the dog, from their sire and dam so breeder would know if its a good mark or not. Sometimes value of the dog may be higher depends on its marks. also the name of the kennel of your seller.

2. Paano malalaman na authentic yung papers?
mahirap alamin if its fake or not there are two ways to fake it, gawang recto. or yung may kakilala sa loob ng PCCI and then original paper but fake dog, ,meaning yung aso is existing but the dog in paper is dead na or ibang breed. its better if you'll buy dog from a reputable breeder than in pet shops.

3. Ano advantages ng dogs/cats with papers sa wala?
mas mababa value. no identity. you're not sure if its pure breed or not. tandaan maraming napeke sa mga puppies na mukhang pom or chowchow pero nung lumaki mukang japanese spitz na. lol

4. About vaccine naman: Ano yung 5 in 1? iba pa ba iyon sa antirabies vaccine? Gaano kadalas iyung 5 in 1? and magkano yung cost for 5 in 1 at antirabies?
5 in 1 is an immunity shot,  this is the most important vaccine a dog should get. A puppy should have this para iwas sakit. antirabies is antirabiies magkaiba sila obviously. ginagawa namin 8 week 5 in 1  16 weeks booster 8 in 1
after everyweek is deworm shots. meron pang parvo shots on its 20th week and anti rabies after those weeks.
5 in 1 cost 500php 8 in 1 cost 500php
deworm cost 300php
anti rabies cost 200php
parvo cost 300php
these are the cost per shots. deworm usually 5 times yan per yung iba ginagwa na lang tatlo. depends on the vet.

5. Ano pinapakain sa mga puppies or ano recommended nyo na pagkain para sa puppies? mas tipid ba sa pagkain yung small breed of dogs kesa sa malalaki or malakas din kumain yung small dogs?
mas tipid talaga ang small breed of dogs kasi mas konti kinakain nila, dog food would still be depend on your dog and your budget. ako pinapakain ko sila alternately pedigree puppy, and beef pro puppy, alternate sila para hindi magsawa ang aso. once in a while I do raw feeding. besides this meron silang vitamins maintenance. 


We were a breeder and then we stopped and then now we're trying to breed but not aggressively breeding, been there done that. first of all there is NO profit in breeding dogs every responsible and reputable breeder will tell you walang kita sa pag bbreed unless if tipirin mo ang alaga mo. the food that you'll buy before it gets heat gagastos ka na, the papers, vaccinations, vitamins, also goin to vet will cost you too, cage, grooming, if you love dogs you wouldnt mind na gumastos yet eventually you knoiw that there would be no money back guarantee, proper breeding is ok if you love what you're doing. but I assure you its a very time consuming and those small dogs are highly maintenance if wala kang time and effort to venture I discourage you. Also you'll never know if a dog is baog or not it really depends on how you treat dogs. hth.

ilan dogs yung binibreed nyo dati?

kung konti kasi aso, mukhang wala talaga profit. kaya ang balak ko damihan yung dogs. kaya rin small breed para magkasya dito sa 25 sqm. ko na space yung marami.

anyway nasa case study pa lang naman ako, nangangalap pa ng info.

sa ngayon kasi giunea pigs ang inaalagaan ko. matrabaho, panay linis ng cage, tapos di pa mabili. so kung nagpapakapagod lang din naman ako with my guinea pigs naisipan kong why not try dogs and cats naman.

additional question:
1. kaano kadalas sila dalhin sa vet?
2. magkano na rate ng check up sa vet ngayon? para alam ko kung mahal sumingil yung vet dito sa amin.

back in 2005-2009 we bred a lot of chows. but our dam passed away due of the ondoy. now we have 5 dogs. two shihs, one beagle and a pair of huskies (still puppy) we're doing it now coz my mom needs some stress reliever but not seriously into breeding but hobby lang coz none of us are focused to do it.

1. you'll visit vet every time it has scheduled for vaccines, for example if you get 5 in 1 or deworming the vet will schedule you again for another vaccine. meron yang booklet for schedules. also syempre if matamlay or ayaw kumain or sinisipon of course you have to go vet or self medication by reading depends on you haha ang importante iisa lang ang vet ng aso. pag iba iba kasi hindi nya din nalalaman ang history ng aso. some vet are asshole, pushy enough to sell their products kung ano ano sasabhin sayo para makabili ka ng gamot sakanila.  thats why mas maganda if kilala mo tlga yung vet, like yung vet namin mabait and honest sasabhin talaga kung ano problema and kung ano dapat bilhin if you're from metro manila i can refer you to him just in case.






2. rate is really depends on the vet and clinic. Some vet mataas maningil mga high end clinic iwasan mo yan, sigurado mataas maningil yan. Sa vet namin every vaccine may free check up free cleaning ng toes na din but if you'll go there walk in for maintenance check up it would cost php250 vet fee lang yan wala pa gamot just in case may sakit.

To answer your questions:
1. Ano yung "papers" na tinatawag? Madalas naririnig ko ito, "may papers" daw yung aso nila. Tulad ng sabi ni leightot , its serves as a birth certificate ng aso. .  its the Pedigree Paper wherein you could trace ung linya ng aso from the dam and sire side hangang sa mga ninuno nila. You could only have this if legit registered din both sire and dam ng aso mo. You will encounter the RED and GREEN marks sa papers ( these are indications na nag champion ung mga ninuno or parents nila(red) while the green represents the sire/dam of merit which indicates na nakapagproduce na sya ng champion litters more than 10)

2. Paano malalaman na authentic yung papers? Papers are authentic if you have the PCCI seal in it saka you could track it sa PCCI office via the registered number ng dog sa paper. .  IMO, walang masyado gumagamit ng fake PCCI paper, even recto cannot produce one on the spot. and dayaan nangyayare dyan is that they use the same papers to different dogs of the same breed and description. ex. pug i can use one PCCI paper to two or more para lang makuha ung mga red and green marks nun papel or magagandang pangalan ng linya. pede din gamitin na pababatain ung dog sa papers. Nagkakaron ng mga ganito kasi may extra registration na ginagawa ung mga gagong breeder. . nagpapasobra sila sa registration and then later on binebenta nila ung mga ghost registered papers.
 
3. Ano advantages ng dogs/cats with papers sa wala? Sa principle of "SULIT" selling, half the price ang difference. Pero kung quality naman ang pag aalaga mo or super maganda naman talaga ang breed mo, to some papers dont matter. Meron pa dyan the more red/green marks eh mas mahal daw kahit ubod ng pangit!

4. About vaccine naman: Ano yung 5 in 1? iba pa ba iyon sa antirabies vaccine? Gaano kadalas iyung 5 in 1? and magkano yung cost for 5 in 1 at antirabies? DDHP Vaccine shots po ung 5in 1, preventive vaccine against diseases such as parvo, corona, distemper, hepa, parainfluenza.  ginagawa yan at puppyhood stage from the 4th week of the puppy. .  hangang 3-4x yan ginagawa with the interval of deworming. Ngaun sir meron na 8 in 1 vax shots kasama na ung pang lepto. after 4months ung anti rabbies and heartworm prevention and then 4x a year deworming and yearly booster shot na

5in 1 @350/shot x 3sessions=1K
deworming @150/tablet x 3 = 450
anti rabbies @250/shot x 1=250
heartgard @ 900/pack x 1 = 900
Booster shot @ 450 / year

5. Ano pinapakain sa mga puppies or ano recommended nyo na pagkain para sa puppies? mas tipid ba sa pagkain yung small breed of dogs kesa sa malalaki or malakas din kumain yung small dogs? Depende po sa lifestyle nyo din kung panu nyo treat ung mga furkids mo. . By principle maliit na breed less to eat, pero meron din naman large breed na onte lang requirement na pagkain , huskies for example. may mga nag aalaga ng small/toy breed pero grabe naman ang mamahal ng pinapakain nila. For standard breeder . .  try mo ung beef pro, vitality, optima, hi pro mga swak sa budget. .  kung malaki ang budget try acana, royal, taste of the wild, orijen or you could go for raw feeding.


You could earn in dog breeding, yun nga lang you will sacrifice the welfare of the dog, paanakin mo ng paanakin, tipirin mo sa pagkain, wag mo bigyan ng vitamins, tapos mag self medicate ka sa kanila pag may sakit sila kung kita lang ang reason mo. pero in general wala talagang kita dyan. its a passion lang among other breeder like us. . what we earn from selling puppies are the means we use to pamper our dogs also. .

1. sa isang small dog, gaano karami kumain in a month? kaya nya bang ubusing yung isang sack (22.7kg) ng beef pro?

200-250grams / standard cup (kahit lata ng sardinas o century tuna) 2x a day. Minsan sa mga label nun dog fud na bibilin mo may guidelines sila on feeding.

500 grams pala in a day for 1 dog.

so kung may 10 dogs ako, 5 kilo in 1 day. yung isang sack 22.7kg, 4.5 days lang itatagal. malaki laking gastusan nga.

iba quantity ng food feeding from puppies to adult so it varies on time table of the dog. syempre pag puppy mas konti pagkain, bro why dont you try to get a toy dog na alaga for your daughter and see how its like to maintain a dog. They say a successful business comes from a good experience. high maintenance ang mga shih's go for a pug or if you have a budget go french buldog like what you've stated.   goodluck
