Need advice on Printer to be networked

Espiyas, need advice..
maglilipat kasi ako ng office. and panibagong setup nanaman ng pc ang gagawin ko.
ang pinuprublema ko is yung printer, dito kasi sa old office magkakalapit lang yung pc and laptops. so madali lang magsaksak ng printer from to the other.

meron bang parang isang box where pwede isaksak yung printer then may nakakabit na mga wires dun sa box from different computers? para pag magprint, hindi na maglipat lipat ng wires?

hindi ka naka-network? the way you said it parang hindi...

alam ko lang is this:
1: share the printer on network via print server..

2: share the printer via sharing then adding them to other PC on the network...

suggestion...usb extender...100m..para ok syang ilipat-lipat the same as you doing now...

yep kailangan nka network ka... kung hindi naman e... walang choice.. lipat ka tlga ng lipat..

actually nakanetwork ako using wifi. pero messed up ang settings ko. hindi nadedetect ng laptop yung printer na nakakabit sa desktop ko...

same OS...or even if Vista and XP it will work on a shared network...same domain? say WORKGROUP or MSHOME?

nakakapag-share ba ng folder yung mga PC's and laptops?

siguro may problem sa work group.. hindi na din nakakashare ng files eh. dati ok naman...

naka router ako madarame. kaso magulo pa kasi yung setup ko.

right click my computer, properties, computer name tab, click network Id, next, next, uses without a domain (kung wala), type workgroup name.. ok.. then restart..

gawin mo sa lahat ng computers yan...

kung ayaw pa rin... maybe ung mga computer jan hindi nka connect sa router nyo..
ping your router from all computers

by the way im using vista pala... and same din sa laptops

hindi ba mas magastos yung print server? mga mostly how much yun?

i dont know the exact price, pero i think may murang print server...

with vista..the same din sa sinasabi ni Madarame...

ok i did what madarame posted

parehas na kami ng workgroup. ngayon this desktop is directly connected sa router and modem.

ngayon tiningnan ko yung laptop sa networks via desktop. lumabas yung laptop.
then punta naman ako sa laptop to open networks. ang nakikita ko lang dun is yung latop lang and residential gateway.

how do i ping the laptop?

are you using linksy wireless router? properly configured ba yun? on ba yung DHCP? what ip range?

anyway, go to Run...type CMD..and ok...then type ipconfig...lalabas ip mo...my guess is 192.168.1.xxx..default nang linksys router..do the same to others...once you determine thier IP's...on CMD promt type ping 192.168.1.xxx...

are you tripping mad? alam ko kasi is techie ka eh...

i'm using netgear dito sa office

am i tripping? :D mas magaling pa kayo sakin :D

minsan kasi mahirap magisip pag may kasama kang prublema sa pera. hehehe :D


update:
ok i got the ip addresses.
what do you mean by pinging? yung alam kong pinging thru cmd is the ping 192.168.1.XXX

that's what i did after...

anyway, hindi ko kabisado deafult netgear..but i will assume 192.168.1.xxx..yun nman lagi eh..

sa nakikita ko kaya hindi makuha ng laptop yung printer is becuase hindi sha makaaccess sa desktop... tama ba? kasi dito sa desktop, naset ko na yung printer to share via network.

dun sa laptop pa magadd ako ng printer via network, puro sa laptop lang lalabas.

no timeout means connected...kung sure ka both ways ang "pinging"....

item 2: tama ka...

item 3: hindi ko ma-gets..

anyway, im going out and bumabagal na Espiya sa akin...

from laptop, go to control panel...go printers/faxes..go to add a printer...choose the bottom where it said connect via a network...next next...i think you're good to go...try to print from laptop...

goodluck...marami naman sasalo dito....

Sir you can add also other printer that share in network via IP mas mabilis po add. just go to control panel add printer then, choose network printer, in the connect printer put this format \\IP Address of Printer Server\ Sharename of Printer.

Pag Vista you need to Advertise the Workstation.

enable the Discovery Feature of the Host PC para makita ng IBA. Pag naka Disable yan hindi mo sya makikita.

A different feature ng Vista from a lower version of OS.

Once na naka enable try mo ulit search via Vista Search feature and/or browse the Network.

Tama pow to sinabe nya pero ung sa 100m na usb cable I think it wont work I think you have to add a usb booster. Kasi meron me dapat ishashare na printer mga I think nsa 15m lang ung cable indi na nya kaya. So suggest ko nalang mas madali I share mo nalang ung printer tapos kabit mo sa computer na most accessible sa inyong lahat.
