Mga ka-spy, i need your suggestions on this matter: Just when is the right time to stop seeding? Yung di naman masyadong magiging leecher lang ang dating ko, i always wanted to share, but eventhough sharing has its limits, i supposed. Please check the values of ratio i highlighted on the attached picture, because others said that 1:1 ratio is enough, is it true? Please advise. Thank you folks! :-*

that really depends on you. if you are on say private trackers, then seeding longer will reward you better (since most private trackers do not allow leechers, its better to keep seeding)
if you have the extra bandwidth, then why not seed. kaso ang nagiging problema is pag marami na, so need na istop seeding ang iba (since even if its just seeding, it still counts on the max allowed connections). more or less 150% seeded is acceptable

at sinong nag obliga sayong mag seed ka? ako pagtapos download delete library agad at unseed laffman::

Okay, sir. But how do i determine if i already seeded 150% of data in the case of uTorrent, where can i find that status? Because as far as i know ratio is the only available status in uTorrent to determine the seed volume. If compared to a ratio what is the equivalent of 150% then? Just want to make sure im doing the right method.
Thanks again, Mod.

Actually, wala namang nago-obliga. Parang an act of courtesy lang to others na nagsiseed din, kasi if not for them i wouldn't be able to finish the downloads immediately. If lahat ng nagdadownload ay gagawin ang ginagawa mo, patay agad ang torrents. But on the good side, in terms of copyrighted materials mabuti rin naman yun. But as for me, i would love to share even awhile. toast::

150% would be 1.50 ratio (last i checked anyway, not sure if things have changed)
-
meron settings sa utorrent na stop upload kung umabot certain ratio... 1.5ratio = 150%
-
noong panahon pa ng demonoid sa pagkakatanda ko at least up to 30% ang nirerequest nila nai-seed

One of good example torrent sites na okay magseed lagi is asiatorrents.

Usually if you're on a private server you have to maintain at least 1.00 seed ratio and at least 3 days of seeding.
-
Ok, thank you all for the comments & suggestions.

to add, may balancing din na ginagawa on the server end (private trackers mostly), naaaccess din yung ibang seedbox nyan kahit sa public trackers yung kinuhanan mo ng original torrent, nakarecord dun yung at least ratio ng per client na nagrerequest ng file.. TL;DR better seeder = prioritized when connecting = better speeds.

if you feel you've seed enough, then that is the right time to stop. you may seed for a day, a week, a month or even years, it's depends on you ts. "IF" meron kang website or blogsite ng gaya kay "YIF" then i should say, seed it forever but if isa ka lang sa katulad naming "bypasser" then 1 day is fair enough. :)
as for lawrencium, tama ka dun pre, after DL delete agad, pero di mo kagaya si TS na may mabuting kalooban sa kapwa pirata :P ::fingerpower

What I do is hinahayaan ko lang lahat nang seed ko pero nakalimit yung maximum uspeed total para di affected masyado bilis nang net.
-
kung kailangan ito sa torrent site
meaning private lalo pag may profile o account ka

update ko lang dito, apparently (in my case, I've tested) totally separate allocation pala ng bandwidth/speed yung UL/DL, either that or default na priority ang DL.. yung max speed ko na 230kbps sa PLDT MyDSL is not affected even if may unlimited na upload speed..
dati affected sya, but it seems the newer protocol is to strictly enforce speeds, kung ang total speed mo dapat sa DL ay 250kbps, ang alloc mo for DL ay 80%, and UL is 20%, then you can never use the 100% for DL alone kahit ioff mo yung UL.
and some more technicalities, better upload rates from your end == better download speed from peers, simply because inaadjust ng P2P yung priority ng parts to better seeders and ginagauge nila yung capacity nung connection mo both ways.
TL;DR - Use unlimited upload/seeding speed, it won't affect download, gaganda pa nga speed.

Thank you, maniac2999. Dagdag-kaalaman para sa mga torrenters. toast::
