All new Ford GT
« on: January 14, 2015, 02:14:07 pm »
Ford has just unveiled the sensational GT supercar, and here’s what we know so far. It’s a carbon-fiber mid-engined sports car packing a 600-hp 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine – the most powerful EcoBoost engine ever built – and will enter production in 2016. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ford GT racers placing 1-2-3 at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, the all-new GT is a sleek, aerodynamic brute of a thing, forged from a mix of carbon fiber and aluminum.

The GT concept also boasts a host of advanced active aerodynamics, including a deployable rear spoiler, as well as some new toys including SYNC 3 – Ford’s latest advanced connectivity system. The cabin also comes with a F1-inspired steering wheel, and a fully digital & configurable instrument cluster.

Ford says the GT will "exhibit one of the best power-to-weigh ratios of any production car.” All that power will be sent to the 20-inch wheels housing carbon-ceramic brakes via a dual-clutch seven-speed transaxle transmission that Ford says will provide "near-instantaneous gear changes."

GO! Muricaa!!  ;D
