Spark on Mobo
« on: July 08, 2014, 08:18:42 pm »
yung friend ko may mother board na EVGA Classified , which is nasira nya and it's out of warranty i believe

so the story is , he plug in a Stereo on the Sound Card which is not the built in one sa mobo

and he said it went grounded , tapos may smoke smell na daw

so he try to pull out the sound card sa mobo and stock it on his garage , last week sinubukan daw nya ulit patakbuhin yung mobo

and nag spark daw , he ask me kung makaka apekto daw ba yun sa processor nya

he wanted to go back in his i7 processor now

I can't gave him a direct answer kung OO o Hindi

so will it affect his Processor?

Hehe... Mukhang importanteng "friend" yan a. Nataranta ka sa pagpost e. Pero base sa mga sinabi mo, the only answer we can give e yes, it's possible. Pero the only way to be sure kung ano nasira at hindi is to check each component.

ok so may sound card sya na individual , doon nya pinasok yung jock nung speaker ng naka on or may power ang sabi nya nag grounded daw at may naamoy sya na usok

so ayun pinatay nya at inalis kagad yung sound card , then tinabi nya sa Garahe nila yung Mobo to try kung ok pa yung Mobo and Processor

pero yung mobo nakalagay pa sa Case , as in PC case

then nung sinaksak nya yung plug nag spark daw yung mobo

i can't gave him a direct answer na oo o hindi sira yung Processor nya

he wanted to save at least the Processor and Memory

buo pa naman yung processor at memory hanggang ngayon.

chances are baka may blown capacitor din lang yung mobo. "baka" buo pa ang processor

Gagana pa yang processor at Memory na yan. Believe me.
DESTINY is not a matter of chance...It is a matter of CHOICE.

Motherboards have overvolt safety features that will BLOW(hence the spark) to prevent any more power to reach the CPU, Memory and Vidcard

if your Mobo has NO BURNT PINS or other marks then ts fine, same as the RAM DIMMS and Vidcard if no burnt marks(and bulging Capacitors in Vidcards) are seen

its an EVGA 3 way SLI X58 classified mother board

he said it pop and smoke where the EVGA logo was , the square capacitor pop and smoke to be exact

not the sound card , it's the 40mm Jock yung kinakabit nya sa sound card , tapos naka ON yung Stereo

well from the sound of it, the mobo is damaged but it shouldn't damage any of the other components. thats what the mobo is there for. kung baga parang circuit breaker yan. pag may problema, it will turn off to prevent further damage but of course unless the damaged part is resolved, hindi mag on ulit (in this case, replacement of the damaged capacitor/fuse). pero ewan lang kung may magtratrabaho nyan. karamihan dito kahit maliit lang na problema sa mobo, they will always recommend replacing it entirely instead of just replacing a few capacitors/fuses.
