New CPU
« on: October 18, 2013, 06:56:13 pm »

may mga mali sa report ng windows

the CPU should have 4 cores not 2, the directx version is 11 not 10

as reported by dxdiag

whats interesting though is the graphics is rated 6.7, not bad for onboard graphics. I was expecting a score of around 5 something

eto full specs

A10-6800K - 6700
gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4 motherboard - 6400
16GB DDR3 1866 (2 x 8GB kit) gskill ripjaws (CL 9-10-9-28) - 7000
samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD - 5500
WD black 1TB - 4000
deep cool gammax 400 CPU fan (medyo bangga nga ata sa panel ng fan so might replace it with gammax 300 next week) - 1200
bitfenix ghost casing (carried over from previous system)
3 deep cool 120 fans - 250 each
CM V750S PSU - 5000

total 36550 (plus 5K for casing)
purposely held off on video card since I wanted to see how the APU goes
also thought of getting a 1TB hybrid drive but decided against it last minute and go for SSD instead for OS
didn't really want the 16GB ram but mura ang bigay and wala na stock yung 2x4GB pag punta ko
napabili rin ako ng TT meka G1 mechanical keyboard pag punta ko since binigay sakin 6 months to pay no interest, discounted price (ang SRP is 5500, binigay ng 5100)

nope not going hybrid crossfire, masyadong maliit lang ang performance gain

if ever im going to get a video card it will probably be GTX 760

btw, I just replaced the cooler since last night even just by doing browsing and playing videos the CPU temp was already at around 70C, so more or less if I do gaming, aabot mga close to 100 or lampas 100. i replaced the cooler with H90 and the temps are now just around 50C

small update, pinalitan ko ng H90 yung deep cool gammax 400 since sobrang lapit na talaga sa side panel and my temps were a bit high, it was at around 65-70 and all I was doing was surfing the net, hindi pa ako nag games

now with the H90, temps are at about 50+ and around 70-80 while gaming

wow those temps are a bit high even with H90, idle at 50°? sana H80i na kinuha mo kasi for some reason older Corsair liquid coolers perform horribly

APU kasi and using the onboard graphics so yeah umaabot ng 50, which is normal. if I will use a video card, the temps should go down

also, I just searched around and other APU users seem to have the same problem. the temp readings were high but actual was not that high. speedfan lang daw ang accurate ang basa ng temp sa APU so will be try speedfan later and see if there is any difference

When it had the stock cooler it was running around 60-70C idle and 120C when on full load. i RMA'd that one and this is my new one. Do they run hot normally?

Was hoping that at idle a antec 620 could keep it around 30C blowing at 60% speed. I have the Bitfenix Prodigy case with intake on the back for the CPU and exhaust on the front. Tried either way did not make a difference, tried using different thermal compound aswell, anyone else got high temperatures or know a way i can reduce this? Want to have my fan a bit quieter.

I understand my fan running 100% with in bf3 - which sits around 60-72C

I had the same problem with a 5600k rig I built, the only program that seemed to report reasonable temperatures was speedfan. Everything else was telling me it was idling at 60C+, which I knew was ridiculous when I felt the heatsink and it was still cold. Speedfan gave me a reading of low 30s which is what it should be at.

ang gamit nung first poster was hardware monitor, which is what I also use

Sir would you mind if I request to post the actual picture of your computer here?

update: will be getting a sapphire toxic r9 280x, was contemplating just the dual-x since it was cheaper but 2k lang difference eh so might as well go with the triple fans (the MSI twin frozr is priced at 16k and it only uses 2 fans). mas mataas nga lang ang power consumption nito since it can go as high as 300W, which is why i got the mobo GA-F2A85X-UP4, dahil meron siyang lucid virtu feature which effectively means I will still use the onboard graphics. one drawback though is that I will be having both the onboard and dedicated card running even if the dedicated card will be in idle only (it still consumes power)

nagkaron ng konteng problema with regards installation of video card (r9 280x), ewan ano ginawa ng mga tauhan ng store. ang kausap ko kasi was the owner, then nung pinadala na ang unit, nag utos lang ng driver para ihatid at hintayin (it should take like 15min or so to install a video card and its drivers). kaso lampas 1 hour na hindi pa nakabalik. then when finally nakabalik na, tinanong ko kung bakit ang tagal. ang sabi natagalan daw sa pag install, twice daw balik2x. so dun pa lang duda nako na may naging problema, so ym ko ang may-ari kung nagkaron ba ng problem. hindi nag reply, sabi ko baka late na kasi it was almost 5pm.

the bigger problem came pag uwi ko and turn on the computer. the card and all was doing fine, but hindi gumagana ang USB port sa likod (the ones on the front panel of the case were working though). I checked device manager, I found four unknown components, I removed them then restarted the system para madetect ulit kung ano mga yun. after the restart, dun na, nawala ang driver ko ng USB and other chipset drivers. so WTF, ano ginawa ng mga taga shop na yun at nagkalokoloko ang drivers ko. I checked the add/remove programs and sorted by date, dun ko nakita ginalaw pala nila ang AMD drivers ng computer. so I immediately ym the owner again complaining about what happened, no reply. after two days, still no reply so nung gabi ng second day, ym again saying hindi na ako kukuha ulit sa kanya because of what happened (I had reinstall the chipset drivers again then also install the drivers for the video card). dun pa lang nagreply na hindi raw niya nabasa so sabi niya the next day, he will investigate ano nangyari.

next day, ayun na nagbigay na ng explanation. standard operating procedure daw ng mga technician niya na they will uninstall the old drivers first then install the new one. hindi na ako nag complain para matapos na. pero eto lang, what kind of technician does not know an onboard video card is included in the chipset drivers. siguro naman pag install ng video card nakita na walang external video card so ang gamit is onboard. and pag onboard kasama ang drivers sa mobo. so naturally pag uninstall mo ang drivers ng old video card, it will also uninstall the drivers of other components, then install the drivers for the new card, talagang kulang yun. the other components will not be installed since the "new" drivers will only be for the video card.

anyways, the new video card helped lower the temp on the CPU as most of the graphics load is now handled by the 280x. the temps at idle are now at around 40+. BUT the APU is still running, I did not disable it since I'm using lucid virtu mvp to see if it does improve performance by using the onboard video card to boost the performance of the dedicated one. for the most part, I think it does but the games I tried it on were not that heavy on graphics in the first place (nba 2k14, rome 2 - its heavy on CPU not graphics). i tried it on rift but it causes conflicts, so I had to switch it off when running rift
