If you like it handy like something VERY easy to carry around but with very basic specs that is, I'd go for the HP Mini :)

Else, you can go for the HP Pavilion dv6-2163TX, or the HP Pavilion G4-2130TX :)

I will not recommend HP brand, specially the COMPAQ series. I have a friend working as an Repair Engineer at Wistron Philippines and he told me that HP Mobo is one of the worst Mobo is terms of quality. Auto Shutdown due to over heating and no display are very common problems on that Mobo he says.

I cannot suggest what model specifically, but for me it is better to go for Toshiba, DELL or ASUS.

That's actually what's going on with my cousin's lappy now. He has the Pavilion G4. I don't know exactly how long he's had it but it has been heating up recently. I mean, it has the fan, but it goes on all the time especially when he's playing LoL. But TS's purpose is not to that extent, like pang-Skype lang and maybe for documents, etc. So I just went ahead with the suggestion because they're the most basic ones.

Toshiba IS good. It's what I own right now. But Dell is, from what I heard, rather, errr...costly. And with ASUS, I guess everyone knows about the recent Aspire One problem it had. You'll notice that there are a lot of people reselling their ASUS units for other brands. So...yeah. But I totally agree with your suggestion on the Toshiba.

(Why didn't I just suggest that??!)  ::laffman

Just want to clarify this one Sir. Correct me if I'm wrong, but "Aspire one" in an ACER series and not ASUS.

Lenovo. Best one I've used, wala ka nga lang makukuhang style points. Never mind the `made in china`, just think of it as IBM.

Toshiba Portege R930 or Z930. Kung ako nasa kalagayan mo TS, alin sa dalawa na yan ang bibilin ko. Pasok sa budget mong 30-40K yan. (check this link for specification http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/portege)

Nakalimutan ko din yung SONY VAIO. Matibay din yang laptop brand na yan.

If for pang matagalan ang hanap mo .. with that budget .. I'd go for Dell or Toshiba..
I'm Hardware Support PC Engineer in a certain company . and  kung matagalan lang naman . dell or toshiba is still the best.

Dell Inspiron 14R (5421) Corei5-3337/4GB/750GB/1GB GT625M/W8/14-inch ---> P33.9k
plus promo of free WD 500GB Passport Hard Drive, EXTENDED until September 29, 2013
