Back to the topic, I think it was around 2012 or 2013 when for a limited time those who donate for the maintenance of the forum had the chance to be bear the Goldmember badge making them a user who has the privilege to visit the VIP section. Other than that, only few chosen individuals who already proved themselves to SG were given unique badges (e.g. Pioneer, Staff, Special Agent, Researcher, Moderator) which gave them them privilege to visit the VIP section.
