MANILA - The military plans to set up a P3.2-billion base in Rio Hondo, Zamboanga, in a bid to secure the strategic Zamboanga Peninsula and prevent a repeat of the siege of Zamboanga in September 2013.

The facility will host not only soldiers, but also policemen and Coast Guard units.

If plans push through, the facility should be ready by 2015.

is the force recon battalion of the phils the most elite special force? if so there's little info, would like to know more about their equipment. where they deployed in the siege? sayang ng pera 100+ soldiers died they should just put the money in the equipment+training.
