Gregory Fabic said that all Philippine Navy vessels regardless of specifications shall be equiped with defensive armaments to be able to react and protect themselves against possible attacks by opposing forces. In the case of the donated tankers, defensive armaments is needed because they will be carrying and transporting very valuable cargo.
Donated vessels referred by Fabic are the three tankers donated by Philippine National Oil Corporation. These will be called Tanker 1,2, and 3 for the mean time until formal commissioning by June or July.
Donation was confirmed last March 26 at Naval Station Jose Andrada in Roxas Boulevard, Manila where a memorandum of agreement was signed. - I THINK ITS ABOUT TIME...
