wi fi connection problem!

happy new year mga bossing. ask q lng kc hindi ako makapgbrowse sa internet kahit connected na ako s wifi. it is unsecured wireless network ng company d2 s kuwait. firefox at ie8 ayaw kahit yahoo mssger. pls help. gamit q acer aspire one netbook. tnx in advance mga kaespiya..

baka nakaBLOCK sa router mismo ang web browsing since as you said its a company netwrok, hehe they want you to work and not get payed surfing the net  ;)

Oo nga nasa setting ng router nila yan, Buti nga naka connect ka eh, meaning walang password before connecting hehehe.

yeah unless the block settings are removed wala talaga, baka kasi may specific PC/laptops lang na magconnect sa network ang allowed to access the net like your boss' or supervisors'

malamang naka-enable yung mac filtering dun sa router. since di naka-allowed yung mac address ng laptop mo di ka talaga makakapasok.

yup. router settings. yun din sasabihin ko. kaibiganin mo na lang system administrator nyo para bigyan ka ng access, ten seconds lang maggawa na niya yan.

naka register sa router settings yung mga mac address nang laptop na mga pwedeng mag internet.

hehe gawin mo sneak in ka sa computer room tapos type mo yung mac address mo sa security settings. hehe ::inposition

Sometimes merong Access Points na makaka-connect ka pero yung DNS naka point sa hindi nag reresolve. Kaya hindi ka maka pag surf ng kahit ano. Kung naka connect ka nga. Para malaman mo kung "talagang" naka connect ka check mo kung meron kang IP, kung meron kang IP then do a test.

1. ping mo google.com dapat or kung hindi man me reply na ganito
Pinging google.com [216.239.61.104] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 216.239.61.104: bytes=32 time=88ms TTL=245
Reply from 216.239.61.104: bytes=32 time=47ms TTL=245
Reply from 216.239.61.104: bytes=32 time=59ms TTL=245
Reply from 216.239.61.104: bytes=32 time=364ms TTL=245

pag walang reply hindi ka nga nakaka resolve, so try mong mag ping ng valid Public IP address.

2. ping mo 8.8.8.8 at eto dapat ang reply
Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=95ms TTL=242
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=87ms TTL=242
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=81ms TTL=242
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=74ms TTL=242

pag yung #2 hindi nag reply, alam mo na ang dahilan. Kung naka MAC filtering naman kasi yung AP ay wala kang makukuhang IP address.

walang kinalaman ang mac filtering ng router jan, pag nafilter ang MAC ng wifi mo, di yan makakapag assign ng IP, magiging Limited or No Connectivity yan, anyway, try to ping any sites, pag nakikita mo, it means may net kau. Anyway pwede mo ba akong ipoint dun mismo sa nakalagay na error ng browser after trying to visit any websites? anyway naka DOMAIN din ba kau sa company niyo? kasi sa akin lang ang wifi pwedeng gamitan ng mga certain requirements yan para makagamit ka ng net nila, unang una is yung tyoe ng CERTIFICATE, next is yung SSID type setting ng wifi mo kung WPA or WPA2 lastly kung naka Domain kau sa company niyo, kelangan ilog in mo yung user mo sa domain niyo, then kelangan din naka open ang dial in ng VPN ng user mo, kung if ever lng na naka DOMAIN kau ah. by the way reply ka sakin kung anong error sa browser mo baka magawan natin ng paraan hehe.
