Psychological Fact: Emotional Pain
« on: May 12, 2007, 12:52:03 am »
Psychological Fact: "All emotional pain lasts for 12 minutes, anything longer than that is self-inflicted"

In-short: After 12 minutes at meron pang "emotional pain" ito ay tinatawag ng pag-iinarte.

Please share your thoughts about this fact. Thanks!

Quote
It is not easy to cope after a loved one dies.  You will mourn and grieve.  Mourning is the natural process you go through to accept a major loss. Mourning may include religious traditions honoring the dead or gathering with friends and family to share your loss.  Mourning is personal and may last months or years.

Grieving is the outward expression of your loss.  Your grief is likely to be expressed physically, emotionally, and psychologically. For instance, crying is a physical expression, while depression is a psychological expression.

Quote
At the very same moment that we feel consumed by grief, we each have the source of all Joy and happiness inside ourselves...

Our grief is, in a very real sense, the mistaken belief that our happiness is connected to external things, situations, and people. It is the loss of awareness that happiness flows from within.

So grief is more about the loss of connection to our own selves than it is about the loss of connection to a loved one or relationship.
