Though selling of arms by some AFP members maybe true... This does not account for the whole arms inventory of all insurgent groups. Add the rebel raids and ambushes against unprepared police groups which also adds up to their stash of firearms. Also take note that foreign nations had been accused of helping these rebels, from training to financial support.
Do we have a choice?
True, it was the previous administrations fault why this land problem had came out anyway.
But the Moro Islamic Liberation Front does not want a piece of Mindanao... They want the whole Mindanao for themselves. Which we cannot allow, simply because there are other tribes in Mindanao that pledge allegiance to the Republic and some of those tribes were said to have already settled in Mindanao long before the Tausugs and others came in.
This problem is really big... And I think that this problem will end up as the Moros will be forced to abandon the claim accept allegiance to the Philippine Republic.
As some people would say about this topic, the situations in mindanao will be much more worse if the government hands Mindanao over to the Bangsamoro people.
My opinion:
The solution to this problem is not as easy as you may think.
Try beggining with, giving all those land back to the rightful claimer.
And relocating all those people in the disputed lands.
It's going to be a Nightmare.
