Topic: HELP! how to unhide folders / files from External HD

Guys pa help nmn po..

na plug-in ko po ung external hard drive ko sa isang laptop na dko alam na me virus / worm.. then after that, pag bukas ko na po ng external HD ko gamit ang laptop ko, nai-hide na agad ung isang folder ko (ung folder ko pa na puro files ang laman (eg. word, excel, etc)).. Sure ako na nandun pa rin ung files ko kc d nmn nagbago ung file size ng HD ko (more or less kc nasa 7gig ang file size ng folder na un). & pag ini-scan ko xa using my antivirus in my laptop (avast pro & updated) nai-scan nmn ung folder na un & naki2ta

- I already try the cmd mode (command prompt, ung attrib) & still dpa rin xa nagana.
- I also try already the software called "USB Show" & before, effective sa akin ang software na to, pero ng time na nuraisak2 nmin ang HD ko sa laptop na me virus, isang folder lng ang nai-hide & pag ginagamit ko itong software na ito, naha-hang na ung software & nagna-not responding na kaya dna natu2loy..
- some technicians recommending na ifo-format nlng daw nila ung HD ko then try nila irecover.. kaso sabi nila mag back-up muna ako ng files kc bka d daw nila ma-recover ung files ko in case... (d nila magawan ng back-up sa shop nila kc malaki daw ung files ko & that time wla clang available space...


Guys I really need your help kung paano mare-retrieve ung mga "hidden" files ko... lahat ng importante kong files nandun...

In my case, ganito ang ginagawa ko para makita ko yung mga naka hide na file sa external HDD.
1. Plug in your external HDD to your computer and open it.
2. Choose organize -> Folder option

3. In view tab, select show hidden file, folders and drives then uncheck mo yung 3 option na nagsisimula sa hide


After nito, lalabas yung mga folder or files na naka hide. Then use cmd to unhide it.

Pag nasa cmd ka na, make sure mo na ang naka select na drive letter eh yung appropriate letter ng external drive mo.
The use attrib -h -s -r "name of folder". Pag may space of name ng folder mo, kelangan mo lagyan ng quote, pag wala naman, ok lang na walang quote.

Nakalimutan ko:
Pag na unhide mo na nga pala yung mga files mo, ibalik mo na din yung dating setting dun sa view tab. I mean i-check mo ulet yung 3 options.

Update lng po.. kahapon pag bukas ko po ng xternal drive ko pra i test ung mga suggestions nyo, ang sinasabi na e

"you need to format the disk in drive D before you can use it. do you want to format it?" (sorry, dko alam mag attach ng pics e)

xempre dko xa finormat.. parang nagi2ng mala2 na xternal ko..

guys kung meron man lng sana na taga cavite area na pede akong matulungan sa prob na to pa help nmn, willing akong mag bayad ng right price pra lng ma recover ang mga files ko.. badly needed ko tlaga mga boss ang files ko d2 kc and2 po ung mga plano ng mga bahay na ginawa nmin & sadly to say dko pa naga2wan ng back up ung files ko for a long time..

Mukhang lumala yung problema. Mukhang kakailanganin mo na ng recovery softwre, pero try mo muna i-plug sa ibang usb slot yung ext hdd baka hindi lang masyadong nagkokontak. Tung talagang ayaw, subukan mo mga suggestion sa thread na ito:

Sir tama iyong sinabi ni sir ALUCADVER  attrib -a -s -h -r /s /d lang katapat nyan, be sure na iyong unit na gagamitan mo ng cmd walang virus or else ganoon pa din di mo makikita. Tsaka kung dahil sa virus yan tiyak nailipat yan sa ibang directory sa directory na walang name. pag nagawa mo yang attrib me lalabas dyan kung sakaling naitago sa ibang folder isang folder na walang name e open mo lang yun andun na lahat ng files.

chances of recovering your files is not 100% sure if already corrupted. sometimes ang narerecover na files ay unusables na rin specially kapag document files ang irerecover mo, sometimes meron ng ibang characters yung content ng file kapag inopen mo, kahit nga yung mga photo minsan eh sira sira na rin. yung mga audio and video files, yun ang kadalasang narerecover ng buo pero hindi 100% maganda yung quality tulad nung original files. parang video from pirated dvd na maraming scratches.

eto lang po yung mga possible effect ng data recovery. 1 more pa pala, hindi 100% lahat ng files mo e marerecover nya.

use "ireset" software just drag mo yun mismong flash drive, hard drive icon  icon mo dun yun ok na back to normal na ulit.
