mga kaespiya patulong naman po ulit, yung external hard drive ko kasi pinahiram ko sa classmate ko tapos kumopya siya ng mga movies then pag uwi ko sinaksak ko na sa laptop tapos may lumalabas na "You need to format the disk in drive G: before you can use it". tnry ko na yung error-checking tapos eto sabi "the disk check could not be performed because Windows can't access the disk." patulong please 400+gb na laman ng external at ayoko mawala mga files. salamat po sa makakatulong!

madalas nangyayari din sa external hd ko yan , baka hindi maayos pag kakatanggal lagi ng usb mo, dahan dahan lang kasi na "pupudpod" yung 4 wires nyan sa loob or usb 4 pinout. ginagawa ko tinatangal ko at saksak ulit sa ibang usb port tapos ginagalaw ko yung usb cable connector. parang  antenna ng TV inaayos para makakuha ng signal

oonga eh nakailang try na kasi ako tapos ayaw pa din.. kaya ngayon nagdl ako easeus data recovery tapos ginamit ko sa external.. ayoko naman icancel 1hr na nakalipas e.. hintayin ko na lang to matapos tho parang napakatagal pa bago matapos. tsaka ko ittry na galaw galawin yung cord hehehe salamat po!

Try mo i-check sa storage properties ng computer management (right clik on computer then click manage). Gaya ng sa below picture, tapos print screen mo then post mo dito. Or kaya try mo din i-open dun na mismo yung. Right click then choose explore. Mangyari kasi sakin to eh, hind ko maopen sa computer pero dyan na open ko.

tanggalin mo na sa casing, tapos bili ka sa CD-R king nung SATA to USB cable

malalaman mo kung dead na yan pag hindi na umiikot yung disc sa loob (hint: spin-up sound/vibration)

the disk is still detected so there is no need to test the disk. the biggest problem is the partitions seem to have been corrupted (hence ang nakikita mo is RAW), you can create a new partition so you can use it again OR if there are important files there, you can first try to use some recovery software (although the chances are slim since the partition data seems to have been corrupted)

gamit ko easeus data recovery. narerecover ko naman yung mga lost files and tnry ko din yung mga RAW files.. narerecover naman siya. ang problema ko ngayon space para sa nirerecover ko.

yan talaga magiging problema mo. until you can recover the files you nee, wag mo muna gawan ng bagong partition yung disk na naging RAW partition since doing so will reduce the chances of recovering files. and btw, just because you recovered the file doesn't mean its intact. check mo muna yung recovered file. in a lot of cases, the recovered file will be corrupted and hindi mabasa ang laman especially those with big file sizes

hiram ka muna ng external HDD, high capacity flash drive. dun mo muna ilagay. then after recovery, gawan mo na ng bagong parition yung disk, then transfer ulit dun

last resort mo na is ung reformat ng drive.. baka may naglokong sector lang yan kaya ganyan.. i have the same experience..
ako i used HDD regenerator.. search ka nalang sa torrent ng full version kasi mas maganda gamitin ung full version.. ako eto ginamit ko nung nagloko ung 320 gb ext hdd ko, and tiis tiis lang kung ilang days ang kakainin ang impt maayus ung may sirang sector..

kung bad sector lang yan, dapat the MBR still reports that the partition is either FAT, FAT32, NTFS, etc. kaso ang report is the partition is RAW, meaning corrupted ang MBR info and there is no record of a partition (kaya nga nagkaron ng prompt na you need to format the disk before you can use it - dahil walang nababasa na partition). whether or not there is also bad sector/s is irrelevant at this point (although later kung nagawan ng new partition, he can check for bad sectors)

Konting paglilinaw lang sir, except siguro pag-yung 1st sector (sector 0) which contains the mbr ng hdd ang bad.
