Well you can never stop corruption dude... That's utopia it will never happen... even in US and Japan they got corruption problems too but it didn't stop them from making they're army upgraded... Syempre andun na tayo na mas maganda nga naman ang economy nila kesa satin... pero what if... corruption aside... what will you do?

it's not simple especially if the culture itself is the problem

it ain't over. . .till its over

While we create a nationalist National Defense Strategy, we provide the men with -

1.  Re-education to imbue in their minds patriotism, civic consciousness and honesty;
2.  Re-training to keep them physically fit and with better skills;
3.  Re-arm with proper equipment to do the job they are supposed to do; and
4.  Adequate pay, increased medical aide, scholarship for their kids and higher insurance.

The military leadership will have to partner with DBP/LBP to secure initial working capital against receivables from BCDA.  The funds will be used to build assembly lines for off road vehicles, naval ships and military aircraft as well as acquire technology for armaments, avionics, radar and satellite communications systems. We buy the technology or design and we assemble and manufacture them locally thru joint venture with international defense contractors. The rest of the production of the assembly lines will be exported to earn additional funds for the above as well as to upgrade intelligence and for warfare simulation studies and research.

3. Proper compensation. Para iwas gulo at reklamo.

Yun lang naisip ko. Wala ako masyado alam dyan eh

For me it would be better if we can do these things...

1. Setup proper air defense so other countries will think about sending their airforce here... Setup powerful radar stations on strategic places. BRITS have proven this effective during WW2.

2. To compensate our electronic defenses (RADAR) we need SAM sites to scare off the planes

3. We need early warning birds too (AWACS) so our country can at least detect INVI BOMBERS. I know we dont have the capability to destroy those planes without our own intercept fighter planes but a least we'll have time to think, and warn our people. BTW its possible to control missiles, using early warning birds, from SAM sites if we can invest on that.

4. About our infantry all we have to do is too train them hard and train them like athletes, training is still better than having too many soldiers that are not trained properly. If you guys can remember the defense of Stalingrad  during the 2nd world war. Russians send in conscripts who originally; were farmers, factory workers and etc.

5. If we can acquire better weapons much better but it would be much better if we can invest in innovating our own arms. For example m16 turned into a _______. We can actually do this since in different provinces we/you know that we have good gunssmiths (di ko alam kung yan ba tamang term sa kanila)

6. Employ guerilla warfare and make sure to do this by heart...DOCTRINE kumbaga kasi napakagaling natin dito...

7. We need more frigates, cruisers and destroyers ready for ASW (anti submarine warfare). We don't need carriers because we can rely on our allies to bring those (I HOPE) if things went into shit...

8. Our navy should learn and study how to use our islands effectively when it comes to war it'll help us more... I am sure of that.

Well so far yan pa lang nasa isip ko.. maybe I can add more kung may new ideas. As far as I know our allies mainly US won't leave us if things hit the can coz of our country is very much a strategic place for them. Kayo what do you think?

I agree with this one. The  budget per meal for our soldiers is at 26 pesos.

if i were given a chance to reform the country's military structure in terms of capabilities

1. setup perimeter defense system since we are island nation best way to go is setup early warning systems on the coastlines (radars) and at the same time it is complemented with SAM's,Anti Ship Missles(that can be fired close in the coastline), and Electronic Counter Measures System  and regular backup interceptors for high altitude chase in implementing air sovereignty and Naval ships that will conduct sea patrols on the said territory

2. Upgrade current military hardware for all branches of the armed forces, will start with the Navy this where the heavy work should start, currently we have an ex-hamilton class in services which is also so the far the biggest ship of our navy.My approach will be create our own ships, if we can have at least 3 ships in every 4 years depending what kind? we will start from the smallest that would be the patrol boats but this ship should have the ablity to fire anti-ship missles and anti-air missles in securing the small islands and can be use for patrol recon of the area, then we bring in frigates this ships are essential in supporting the small patrol craft it provides essential presences in the area of responsibilty this kind of ships should be in divided into task group each frigate is complemented by each designated purpose (example: Group 1: anti-ship, anti-air, multi-porpuse frigate (combination of anti-ship and air) but not limited in carrying out anti submarine warfare), then for the destroyers pretty much the same concept for the frigates but this time all destroyers are equipped with anti submarine warfare as a standard issue then we put in the cruisers in this kind of class all of them are missle guided capable (capable of firing on air/land/sea based targets) and can serve as a flagship for the surface warship flotilla this approach is for making our presence felt.

3. Air force, needs to acquire interceptor type of planes that could carry out air patrols and sovereignty which will be closely intreacts with the radar systems we implemented, and for helicopters in services that would be spread out in 3 major branches accordingly for the Army use it should be a gunship type that is able to support close interdiction and has ability to fire anti-tank weapons their role is more support for the troops on the ground and while for the Navy it would be a multi purpose one, capable of carrying out maritime patrols and SAR operations but it's arraments are not limited into anti-ship and anti submarine warfare,and for the Airforce high altitude interceptors and Multi role fighter planes that can provide interdiction support both for army and Navy and a special division of bombers role carrying out bomding raids on the target with accuracy(long range bombers or multi-role), and recon group for carrying intelligence gathering and mapping and AWACS planes (similar but locally made) for quick swift of the area any unknown threats coming in our airspace.

4. Army needs to upgrade the hardware assets because with the ongoing technologies right now most of our mechanized weapons are obsolete, first changes to do is get new battle tanks (similar to Challenger Tanks of British Army or Abraham Tanks of US Army), what we have in service most of them are considered IFV (Infantry Fighthing Vechile) and for our mechanized division must be capable of launching guided missles for anti air/ship/submarine warfare and for the personnel use update the hardware issued on them like rifles, telecommunications link,intel gathering equipments.

5. Train more special forces for all major branches, the more special forces we have in hand at dissposal the better we can defend and at the same time employing strategic warfare

6. when all this changes takes place need to have our defense system as a doctrine to guide all our major branches whether waging a war on the enemy or standard patrolling of our air/land/sea sovereignty

Dark for fear of failure an inner gloom as wide as an eye and fermenting roiling hate death grip in my veins unveiling rancid petals flowering forth foul nectar the space between a blink and a tear ...death blooms...

Dapat i-base natin ang AFP sa IDF (Israel Defense Forces), the best armed forces in the world.
